Fedor fought like half scrubs during that run and Jon did not.

I am hard pressed to believe someone was clean who fought in an org where it was literally permitted so I consider that a wash.

The juicing argument doesn't really hinge on fedor having not done it, more so that jon was allegedly allowed to get away with it while his opponents were not so there is where an advantage can be argued.

Unfortunately MMA hadn't developed the same level of competition in these two eras. Even if fedor was better than jon he wouldn't have the opponents to prove it. So yeah jon wins this but not totally on merit.

Meanwhile at UFC 182, Victor Conte and the NSAC both stated DCs test results were perfectly normal, but Jon's had huge red flags. This was right before USADA came in and busted him multiple times.

Me assuming they're both on PEDs or at least were makes it a wash, yes. Jon fought guys on PEDs while being on them himself. I assume the same of Fedor. The sole difference was they didn't test for it.

I think Jone's streak is a little more impressive, because he has never really been beaten yet. His streak is still going, and covers two weight classes. I will admit though, it's moving pretty slow right now. I don't want to take anything away from Fedor though, his PRIDE streak was incredible, and he often fought guys bigger than him.

fedor fought at a time when people were insanely juiced, and the mma “game plan” hadn’t been perfected as an art form. he fought top guys, and not-so-top guys, but he also fought dangerous fighters who weren’t known quantities. basically there was a lot of diversity in competition. he did it as an undersized hw, naturally. so it’s pretty impressive he lasted that long.

jones is pretty close. he’s basically undefeated. the earlier part of his run was packed with stars. he had physical gifts, but he knew how to use them. the only real knock against him is the roids. if you put jones in the game 10 years earlier, without jackson wink, and without roids, might have picked up a few losses. if he fought prime fedor under those circumstances, i wouldn’t be surprised to see fedor pull off a win via armbar or something like that.

so i’m giving the “impressive win streak” award to fedor. the top p4p award goes to jones.

What would Jones have been like if he fought his career in PRIDE, where there was no drug testing? Scary!

Fedor's win streak wasnt just undefeated, he didnt lose a single round, not even if you cut Pride 10 min rounds in half.

Jones has 3 fights were many thought he should have lost the decision in his "undefeated" run, none of that in Fedor's run after Arona literally months into his career.

Fedor's streak ended, Jones's is still going! Many may have thought Jones lost 3 fights, but the judges who were sitting about 5 feet away, ALL thought he won. That's all that really matters. Jones had 11 title defenses, to Fedor's 5. That means Jones was fighting the top guy in almost every single fight he's had. Fedor fought a lot of mediocre fighters in Japan. They are both legendary fighters though, and am not knocking Fedor at all.
