"Fedor ducked the ufc"

He ducked UFC and ducked top opposition for much of his career. He has more wins over Chois and Zulus than quality opponents.
Already went over why that's nonsense. The ufc never had the best hw division at any point in his prime.

Alistair was very obviously juiced out of his mind and Fedor simply asked for drug testing to be done prior to the fight.

That wasn't on him, they were in the same GP on the same side of the bracket, had Fedor won they would have been scheduled to face off.

Fedor didn't duck anyone, ever.

Turned down 8 figures to fight Lesnar.

Fedor's Fight IQ sucks. He has proven that over and over again. shitty gameplans and tactics. That kinda shit may fly in Japan but it doesn't work in the big leagues.
Contrast that with Stipe and DC who have excellent Fight IQ and they would have had their way with Fedor.

went after the best deal, like everyone else. Nothing unusual with that.

Didn't become a headhunter until late in his career. He was very tactical and effective at mixing striking and grappling in his prime. Pretty odd to imply a guy with a number of wins via strikes, subs, and decisions was one dimensional.

He beat guys ever way possible.

zWhen he signed with SF, Lesnar was champ Carwin interim, and Cain was as far along as DC,
and JDS had ko'd Werdum.

Werdum had washed out of thd UFC prior to SF and was a 6.5-1 dog against Fedor. Rogers was a bum who did nothing in mma other than finding AA's notoriously weak chin. Sulva was never anything special, especially when Fedor signed with SF. Nog, Mir, and Couture were all higher eanked at the timyoue.

He ducked the UFC and Lesnar in particular. He got outgrappled in 2 exchanges by Mark Hunt. He wanted no part of Brock.

Spin it how ever you guys want

Fedor just wasnt good enough to compete in UFC without referee wearing earpiece.
He brought some eyes to the sport and for that he should be respected but acting like he was some world beater is a meme at this point.

Wouldn't the best deal be the Lesnar fight?
Obviously not. If it was, we would have seen it. Todays UFC-owners would have co-promoted with Fedors company, and the fight would have been a reality. The previous owners refused to.

Wouldnt go this far.

Hed gave smashed AA, Couture, Mir, Eilers, Buentello, etc.

That was a very short period of time tho and he absolutely left a lot of fights on the table.

But he would've had the UFC marketing machine behind him.

He's in bellator now, imo it would've been better for him to have signed the Lesnar fight and continue in the UFC from there.

He had already had a long career by then. The drug testing thing is a bizarre criticism. Steroids weren't illegal in pride, and he never failed a steroid test in the US. Classic nonsensical hater talking points.
Yeah, and Lance never tested positive either...fuck is your point?

Fedor and other guys like Sergei Kharitonov have mentioned how terrible UFC contracts are and why they'd never sign them.

It's been awhile so I'm paraphrasing but they mentioned how the UFC owns your likeness, image, owns your fights, tells you where to be, what to wear, who to talk to and doesn't let you do anything related to fighting. On top of that, Fedor specifically mentioned how Dana is disrespectful, doesn't like his attitude and wouldn't want to work for him.

If you are someone like Fedor and UFC offers you 1 million dollars but owns everything you do or, Bellator offers you 800k and your only obligation is the week of the fight AND respects you, the choice is obvious.

A lot of us have a problem thinking with a fan's mindset rather than the fighter. Fedor doesn't care about fighting in the UFC, being the GOAT or winning the UFC title. That's a fan's fantasy and something they want to see. Guys like Fedor and Sergei just want to be paid, fight and be respected and they don't need the UFC for that.

Nonsense comparison. Choose one of the following: Fedor was on steroids in pride, where it was legal and a lot of people were. Level playing field. Or, Fedor was a clean fighter in an org where steroids were legal.

Cheating would be using steroids or other peds where they AREN'T legal. Proven by getting caught failing a test.

8 figures to fight Lesnar in Cowboy Stadium isn't a favorable contract?

If he came here and blew Lesnar away, his and M1s brand woulda been infinitely better off than anything his SF contract couldve yielded

If they had promoted his company, and it was the best deal, he would have signed with them. They wouldn’t co-promote.

In hindsight, a fight with Lesnar might have been the best for him, if he had won, and kept on winning, but he had been on a pretty bad decline for a few years, so it is hard to say.

It was still never an issue to join the UFC, since the owners would not co-promote. The UFC owners today Are much more open to this. No need to have the UFC marketing behind him if he has to abandon his company..

He only ducked Brock. M1 and russia wanted nothing of the ufc hw champ Lesnar.

People focus on 2009 but really the important time was 2007, thats when Fedor signed with M-1 and from that point onwards it was them and the UFC unlikely to come to terms.

I mean you look at what guys like Nog, Shogun, Wand and Crocop were getting from the UFC back then and whilst it was certainly decent money it was along way off of "millions" and the kind of numbers that M-1 contract(which importantly was garenteed, the UFC deal most likely could be terminated whenever they wanted) was offering. I strongly suspect the issue was Fedor(and a few others like Barnett) saw that the UFC was actually lowballing fighters depending on the idea they were the only game in town.

100%! And I think the exclusive contract wasn't something that worked for them. I am pretty sure Fedor had some ownership in M1 so not only was he a fighter but also his own promoter.
