Lindland was a great wrestler. He was a middleweight though. Jones, as opposed to Fedor (one might say) hasn't really struggled vs those.

As I said, Fedor could close the distance on Jones, but he would get taken down (if Jones wanted to ).

Could Fedor submit Jones on the ground? Well, Jones was close to getting submitted by an armbar, no less, by Belfort. So it could happen. Then again, Fedor hasn't submitted anyone near as savy on the ground as Jones.

Posts like this show you don't really know what you're talking about- using one instance in Fight A to determine the outcome of fight B. Lindland fought Rampage at LHW as a LHW leading up to the Fedor fight in what was a really close split decision which many think he won.

The same Rampage who went on to KO Chuck and beat Hendo in his next fights. Rampage wasn't any bigger than Fedor on fight night so painting it like Lindland was some tiny MW who easily took down the Ubereem sized Fedor is dishonest.

Stipe got taken down by Joey Beltran. That doesn't mean that's something you can use to predict the outcome of his future fights.

We can easily point to Jones getting outboxed and out wrestled by Gustaffon- who wasn't better than Fedor at his best. Or Jones getting dropped by Reyes after not being able to take him down. Another guy who wasn't as good as peak Fedor.

The truth is Fedor vs Jones is a fight that you can't really predict the outcome of with confidence. If they fought 10x you'd probably get mixed results.
