Gotta love how all of a sudden, semi-automatic is supposed to be a bad thing. Antis gonna retard.
After my second appeal is over you are really going to like living in Hawaii a lot more.
But what about getting mowed down by the Asian gangs with their new ccw? That part will probably suck.
Anybody notice that the gun lobby is typically all about state's rights - not just when it comes to guns but, as a matter of principal for most issues? But they sure love to appeal to the feds and the almighty constitution when they think it'll help them.
How quickly does the gun lobby fucking DESTROY the Feds for overreaching when they try to make any type of law they disagree with? Yet here it's all champagne and atta boys for the Feds who just plowed into Hawaii and told them how to do business. Would be very interesting to see the reaction if the Feds ruled on something about magazine sizes or gun-free zones in Texas.
Also, Obama haters take note...this is his evil Federal government at work...taking all your guns?
Not quite and not always. Notably the 2nd amendment was only incorporated to the state level in 2010. Prior to that states could (and sometimes did) impose fairly harsh gun restrictions. It’s states’ rights as long as it follows the constitution that was settled with that war we had.
The only states right most of us support is this.

Basically it took an activist court to override state's rights on this issue.
Personally I find the "or to the people" more important in that and consider the 9th more important still. (not what you're responding to but relevant to many discussion in the WR)
The Supreme Court is rejecting yet another call to decide whether Americans have a constitutional right to carry guns with them outside their homes.
The justices on Monday left in place an appeals court ruling that upheld the San Diego sheriff's strict limits on issuing permits for concealed weapons.
The high court decided in 2008 that the Constitution guarantees the right to a gun, at least for self-defense at home.
But the justices have refused repeated pleas to spell out the extent of gun rights in the United States, allowing permit restrictions and assault weapons bans to remain in effect in some cities and states.
More than 40 states already broadly allow gun owners to be armed in public.
Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch said the court should have reviewed the appellate ruling. Thomas said the decision not to hear the case "reflects a distressing trend: the treatment of the Second Amendment as a disfavored right."
The high court also turned away a second case involving guns and the federal law that bars people convicted of crimes from owning guns.
Young v State of Hawaii is the current incarnation of my carry case. It is in front of the Ninth. Unlike Peruta we asked for both open carry and concealed carry so the Ninth can't wrangle out of it like they did with Peruta.
Great win here in our 50th state for the Second Amendment. However as this case was not NRA or SAF back one must ask what attorney would work years unpaid in order to take this matter to the Ninth Circuit of Appeals in order to prevail.

As with any safety measure, if you wait until you need it you're already too late. Get one, familiarize yourself with it, and have it ready for any and all occasions it might be needed.Cases like this is why I understand the NRA's "fight any legislation" mantra.
Cause I really do believe there's a general group of anti-gun advocates that wish to have the second amendment abolished completely and continue to lobby for stricter gun laws with that ultimate goal in mind.
It's obvious that Hawaii government was using this law to deny handgun registrations by blanket denial of applications. This isn't even about the dreaded "assault weapons" which i felt all along was just a crisis excuse for new gun legislation.
I'm not a NRA member nor do i own a gun. But in the future i do wish to have the right to own one if i feel my area becomes crime ridden and would warrent neccessary self protection. I never felt the police could ever protect the populace as they'd like you to believe. A majority of the time they show up just in time to write a report and unfurl the crime tape.
