The number of influences is mountainous. Heck probably the most influential lobby group in DC is for a foreign nation (AIPAC). It's all a farce.

You could even stick with the Russian example, and see that RT is running out of Washington DC. Media is what really affects public opinion the most.

So a Russian outlet operating in the US wasn't an issue, but now that some emails got leaked all of a sudden they are worried about public opinion being influenced. It's totally disingenuous.

The problem with all this talk about fake news is that it just seems like a naked attempt by the mainstream media to try and discredit alternative sources given the abysmal lack of trust the public has in them and for good reason. Its true there is a lot of shit tier news on the internet but at the same time we've seen how compromised the mainstream media is with the collusion between Donna Brazile and the Clinton campaign being the worst example of the cozy relationship between the media and the political class.

Its like a known adulterer like Bill Clinton telling people that cheating is bad. Yeah its true but it lacks weight coming from him.

Even if russia did hack the DNC -- was the information they released fabricated?

I also dont like the narrative "influenced the election," makes it seem that they hacked the votes -- doesnt help when CNN mentions "influenced the election" they show clips of voting booths and machines.
