Yeah, but this isn't an economics forum.

Some level of economic knowledge should be a prerequisite to argue on a political forum. That's not to say anything about your economic understanding, but economics is at the center of advocating for lasting public policy and a lot of the most opinionated persons are completely clueless.

Like Donald Trump, honestly. It's absolutely astounding to me that the guy could go to Wharton and still know so little about economic policy. I guess I thought there was a lot more macroeconomic competence built into business degrees.

It really comes down to the fact that a lot of really damaged people post here, and they come for affirmation rather than to hash things out. In the outside world, they're mocked for their lack of social skills and entertainment habits (a lot of these guys are obsessive gamers) and are generally struggling with life. But they see the WR as a haven, and having someone interrupt with logic and facts that they would prefer not be discussed can really rile them up, even if that person is really nice to them.

It really comes down to the fact that a lot of really damaged people post here, and they come for affirmation rather than to hash things out. In the outside world, they're mocked for their lack of social skills and entertainment habits (a lot of these guys are obsessive gamers) and are generally struggling with life. But they see the WR as a haven, and having someone interrupt with logic and facts that they would prefer not be discussed can really rile them up, even if that person is really nice to them.

Pwent, Kone, RipWarrior have consistently good posts. Of course the Respectable Palis, president of the war room. Although he doesn't post much, Aviator Shades is probably the one person I believe to be not only smarter than myself, because there are a few, but also has amazing intuition as well. If we had ten posters like him, our troubles here with the left would be over very quickly. (I'm not actually this dramatic, I just felt like loosely quoting apocalypse now)

And of course there are more.

Seriously, though, there are some who are bad at it, but by definition liberals believe in rational decision-making focused on the common good (as opposed to basing political decisions on various forms of tribalism, hereditary privilege, religion, etc.).
