yea i follow them as well - i thought i was going in too much depth w my initial post heheh - cant imagine anyone here follows chess, given how low the attention spans are here (and the pride taken in low attention spans)

true, also it's funny how some people are proud to be ignorant these days, anti-intellectualism bullshit, but they're happy to have scientists to build the planes they use to go to some springpbreak or build satellites that will deliver them their WWE show on tv

as off chess I used to read a lot about the past world championships, but just started following a tournament live recently (Wiik an Zee) it's quite cool, same for teh rapid chess tournaments on chess.com

Anyways, Kasparov as a chess player = GOAT - I have to admit

and I feel more identified with Karpov´s game - yes, I´m defensive and I admire his boa-constrictor style

kasparov was the Goat at his time no doubt, and is one of the best ever, but I think Kramnik and definitely Magnus are even better now. which is normal, they benefit from his work (I think Garry used to train Carlssen actually)
I like karpov's style too btw,

also have you seen Magnus reaction when he was asked why he didn't do a great match against the computer, like kasparov vs deep blue ?

"I would lose, and I don't like losing"
he also said he think he would have beaten deep blue, and that garry should have, but todays computers are much better.
