Sorry I went a little nuts with the Time pics....they're all so good though.

Indeed. I wonder how they were able to capture photos with such high definition back in the day.

lol Where's this from?

The guy doing in the picking up is Daiki Kameda and the guy being picked up is Daisuke Naito.
Naito won the fight. Kameda was getting very frustrated during the fight and did a couple of fouls.

I think someone on here said that Kameda shaved his head as an act of apology to Naito for the slam and some illegal hits.

Edit: Glad everybody like the pics. I edit to add the story from the photo guy.

It was easier to get Ali to pose than Frazier. Joe still resented all the torment Ali had caused him over the years. Ali had made all the money, too. Joe finally agreed to pose when we offered to go to his gym in Philadelphia.I knew it would be a difficult shoot because Ali had Parkinson's and, I learned that day, Frazier had diabetes. Ali walked in, and I set a stool in the ring for him to sit on. Joe said, "What about me? Man, I can barely walk. My legs are killing me." But they were happy, joking around and hamming it up in every shot.Near the end I switched from color to sepia film. I said, "Look, guys, just stare at the camera. No smiles, no gags." I did one frame, then a second, and there it was, the picture I was looking for: two battered warriors who'd left their lives in the ring.

how come they're so effing loud during a boxing match but mouse quiet during mma fights???

I was thinking that too.
During Pride fights you wouldn't usually hear the crowd so loud.
There would be alot of people there, just not making much noise.
But on this.... wow, they aren't pipin' down.

What a great collection of photos

this one is nuts, This punch Broke Abraham's jaw, and he still fought on. winning the fight. He was given a chance to quit, but choose to continue. The guy is hard.

I don't think that was the punch that broke his jaw... you can already see the blood on his chest from when his jaw had been broken and bled all over him... that looks like he's being punched after his jaw is broken. It was an uppercut if I remember correctly... but maybe I'm wrong.

I like the picture, though... gruesome.
