Admittedly i'm not even a typical fan of Van Halen (as in: regular listening to his stuff) but i'm aware of his insane influence on music (and guitar playing in particular) and his skills have impressed me a lot (Eruption in particular... that's fire!).
I will listen more to him in the future, he's always been one of the artists that i knew a few songs of, but never gave a longer listen to.

I bought him a guitar key ring as a stocking filler a few years ago with the same design. He's been thinking recently about buying another EVH. He loves the Converse with that design but I might see about buying some more for him, he's had them ages.
I'm not a gigantic fan of Van Halen either, but I know we wouldn't be where we are with modern rock now if it wasn't for him, and that makes me a bit sad.

Sorry for my confusion, i'm german, so i might have trouble here and there, especially with things whose names are made of mutliple nouns, as the translators (sometimes) don't translate them properly.
(Had to rely on google images for this one, lol.)

Or are there differences (for example one is the standard and one the premium version)
