2015 was a pretty solid year for horror IMO.

What is your favorite horror film that was released last year and why?

For me

One of my all time favorite soundtracks, solid performances, well directed IMO, tense.

Honorable mentions - Unfriended, Insidious 3 (love this franchise).

I still have not seen Goodnight Mommy or Krampus both of which i really wanna watch.

It Follows, by infinity.

It was one of the best horror films in some time.

Hoping they nix the sequel and leave that story alone.

Will still watch sequel.

I agree, the way most sequels go i would much rather have it stand alone. (Sinister 1 was pretty good, 2 was just awful for example)

For me it is just not wanting the mystery surrounding the force to be revealed. It is kinda like what happened with Halloween. Once they started trying to explain why MM was the way he was the whole thing started to unravel. But, if you just watch the original and look at it as a standalone film, it is much more terrifying.

I think it will be a similar case with It Follows. It will cheapen everything knowing exactly what is what. The mystery and the unknown is what really makes that movie great.

Yep, agree with everything you said. I know it being a bit ambiguous in certain aspects is a complaint some had, but i think it strengthened the movie.

I don't see anyone except the lowest common denominator not enjoying that film as is. Anyone with half a brain understands that fear of the unknown is a terrifying thing. Unfortunately, when it comes to films, there is a huge number of idiots lol.

Anyway, watch Goodnight Mommy if you can. I still don't know how it ends, but I saw around half of it and it completely held my attention.

Although, several buds around here that saw it said it was only average.

Did you seriously say Unfriended?
This can't be real life

I watched it with my ex and she bickered and complained through most of it. Or she played on her phone so maybe I'll give it a rewatch.
Oh hell. Yeah dude. There are a lot of subtleties to that film. Definitely need to give it your attention. Be sure and let us know what you think if you watch it again.

Easily it follows for me.

I actually really enjoyed it
eh, i found it to be ridiculous tbh :/ couldn't get into it
though i watched a movie that reminded me of it, the girl who is on a chat site, sees a girl murdered on cam, and then idk, you see all this shit happening through her computer. liked that better. not sure what year it was created though, just made me think of Unfriended.

Bobby, what kinda stuff is in It Follows? Like is their rape and that kinda stuff? Kinda like to know before I watch a movie, and wanna see this one now that you guys are talking about it lol

ill add another vote for It Follows, although to be honest it wasnt as good as i was expecting. Bone tomahawk if you consider that a horror movie was also very good. I still want to see crimson peak though.

I haven't seen any, i don't think. Was Krampus good? That's the only one i actually wanted to watch.

If Babadook was 2015, i saw that and it was terrible.

Actually, i saw Unfriended and thought it was pretty clever.

I just can't stand these movies ending with a lame cgi demon growling into the camera. Why do that for the 1000th time?

It follows was fantastic. Best horror flick in quite a few years, for me. The soundtrack... Good god, it fit like a glove.

Agreed, and yes that's on my need to watch list just haven't gotten around to it yet.
