"Father Time Did Not Beat Stipe, Jon Did" - Chael P.

Hes right. Stipe did not look bad at all. I honestly dont understand where it comes from.
You should probably get your eyes and IQ checked fella. Stipe looked like a random they plucked off the street and fed a belly of turkey to.

Fight was a joke, as everyone knew it would be. Remember, Jon made this fight. Not the UFC.

Weak attempt at HW glory over a guy who was checked out three years ago.

Stipe looked noticeably slower and older. Not by a huge amount like we've seen other fighters. But it was certainly noticeable.

Jon still looked very sharp though so can't take anything away from him, but that was not HW "goat" Stipe.

Yes I think that was it too. Combination of rust and not being able to catch Jon.

I'm not saying Stipe looked great. He didn't. I just think Jon was as much of a reason for that as the age and layoff. I think Stipe does better against other HWs. Probably gets smoked by Tom too since Tom is quick.

I disagree respectfully. Stipe looked so old and stiff I would wonder if he could beat anybody in the top 10 at Heavyweight currently, much less Jon and Tom. If you told me that current Stipe and Tuivasa were on the same skill level I might agree with you.

I mean he was fighting arguably the most fluid and dynamic big man fighter of all time. No one does what Jon does at his size. Most HWs would look slow. I think Aspinall is one of the few guys who wouldn't.

I agree with Chael. People are discrediting Stipe more than giving Jon credit. Jon made Stipe look like a retired bum with his body work and ground and pound, and then gave us a highlight reel finish. Jon was coming off a layoff with an injury too - not like he has been active for years either. People are only mentioning Stipe's absence, not Jon's.

Jon is that good. Accept it. Embrace it.

You may not like the person, but the fighter is the greatest of all time.

For sure. I'm not claiming Stipe is who he was 5+ years ago.

I just think he looked as bad as he did because Jon made him look bad and beat him up. People disregard the body work because its not flashy, but Jon was working it and beating him up while it lasted.

You are really comparing 5 years to 30 years? Jon has been in the UFC longer than Stipe by the way. He was ALREADY champ when Stipe made his UFC debut. I don't see people giving credit to his longevity.

GTFOH!!!! Jon didn't "make" Stipe look bad. Not at all. Did you even watch the fight??

Stipe looked bad because he was bad, period.

Sitpe was 42 years old. Stipe looked EXACTLY what everyone who knows anything about MMA knew he was going to look like. He was shopworn and his mobility was absolute dogshit. He was a deer in headlights for almost the entire fight. The first punch he ate was reality's freight train hitting him. Stipe surviving round one was more impressive than anything Jon did in the entire fight. When Stipe wasn't getting beat up on the ground, he was pretty much headhunting for a KO shot or running away from Jon.

The few times Miocic touched Jon, Jon didn't fucking like it at all and would turn and run away slowly. Cripplioc couldn't even run him down. Did you not even see that? It was blatantly obvious Stipe wanted out of there long before the kick.

Stipe made Jon look good, not the other way around. Jones is lucky he wasn't fighting Tom. He was killing it on the ground in the first round, but his performance dropped off pretty quickly after that. Jones should be thankful he didn't fight Aspinall.

And part of Jon's longevity has to do with suspensions, let's not forget that. How many years did he sit out for those?

Jones looked slow. Stipe looked like he was in super slow motion.

Sorry, Chael clearly wasn't watching the same fight most of us were.

Dana must've thrown chael a few bucks to push this narrative.

Everyone knew Stipe had no chance as soon as the fight was announced. Fans labelled it a farce. Stipe was old, he was retired. He was washed up. Concussed. Etc.

Now suddenly because Jon looked dominant were supposed to believe he's great?

It's easy to look dominant against a washed fighter.

The only way Jones deserves any credit would be if you're also willing to give Tito major props for beating Chuck. Or Jake Paul major props for beating Tyson. It's ridiculous.

we need to put all the Fedor, Cain, and Lesnar talk aside

he needs to fight the 1 true contender

Tim Sylvia

Yeah sure .. because Tito vs Chuck and Paul vs Tyson were for world titles too right? Moronic response.

How about him finishing Gane in 2 minutes? Can the guy do anything at this point for you people? lol

I mean, I understand not liking him as a person.. but its not fucking hard to be objective when looking at the fighting aspect.

Chael would suck a fart out of Jones' ass if it got him more clicks on videos

Gane got wrestlefucked by a 1 legged Ngannou. Jones salivated seeing that, knowing his wrestling is well above Francis

You are warped. Giving no credit to Jones just means you are straight hater. You act like Stipe was on fucking deaths door and somehow miraculously showed up for a fight like 58 year old Mike Tyson.. LMAO its laughable. Not even in the same stratosphere.

2 minutes though? It was like a hot knife through butter, for a guy at a NEW weight class who had been out for YEARS.

Give him some credit lol
