Father Time calling Shev

Considering how weak her division is, Valentina can still rule over it even as she's declining.

We all know Shevchenko won the second Nunes fight, even though Valentina didn't cut any weight at all to fight at 135 and Amanda probably had 15-20 lbs on her on fight night.

No. We all know it was a close fight. All of the other excuses don't matter. She lost. The end.

Even if you think Shevchenko didn't win, just making the fight close being so much smaller than Amanda, proves Valentina is the better fighter.

Sorry. But if Valentina was the better fighter she would have won. You can make up the weight cut stats all you want, but they both weighed in at 135.
Shevchenko didn't cut any weight at all to fight at 135. Nunes walks around weighing about 170 lbs, according to her own wife. They both weighed in at 135. Nunes was the much heavier fighter inside the cage though.

Yeah, she really "beat her". Lol. The numbers suggest otherwise.
she sure fucking did... whos on her back all busted up

And Manon cheated in the second round... maybe a mistake I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.
who got dropped in round 4... wasn't Shevchenko... at the end of the 4th Manon's own corner told her she had to finish it if she wanted to win... why cause THEY KNEW SHE WAS LOSING...

Because your post implies Father time has caught up with Shev and she would lose. She did not lose. Father time did not catch up to her yet.
Sigh...Dude, I never implied nor mentioned her losing. I said her invincible aura was gone. A few years ago, she would've dominated Manon. Stop making things up, dude. Father Time is very much here for Shev. She should retire soon before someone makes her. Anyway, good night.

Then what was the point of your post? You start by saying Manon is a big girl then follow up with Val's invincible aura is gone. Not to mention the thread title. I don't understand how you can't see how someone would see this thread as implying Val will lose.

I still respect Valentina greatly. She's always fighting fighters much larger than her and winning just on her skills. She's supremely skilled.

She arguably won her fights against Amanda Nunes who is much larger than her.

And even though she's slowed down, Manon had to resort to the Ultimate Hugging Championship because she was being pieced up.

Pffft! Again, Good night, sir! LOL!

She just beat a giant that most thought she couldn’t beat..

It’s wmma - not overly exciting and not a ton of finishes

Natalia Silva might be next champ and guess what - she doesn’t finish people either …

Appreciate Val - she’s a badass bitch who keeps defying odds and proving people wrong

*yes she’s on limited time … but she just beat a giant who’s never lost in the ufc … give her some props …nobody thought it would be easy or a finish …

You could say that about Mighty Mouse and Dominick Cruz, too. But it's clear that MM and Shevchenko are both natural flyweights, and performing they way the both did at higher weight classes just proves their pound-for-pound greatness.

this gets argued all the time on here, but I'll bite.
Val won the second fight. Yes I get she technically lost w/ the judges. But they fucked it up and it was a robbery. Most people agree w/ my take.
And yes it matters that Val was way smaller than her. That makes that fight a massive accomplishment for Val. She literally moved down to 125 when the UFC started it (her proper weight class Amanda could never make) and has dominated it as much as any woman has dominated a weight class. Not to mention by the time Amanda retired, 135 was weak & old AF. It still is now. One of the only good fighter currently in 135 rn is Kayla who wasn't even in the division when Amanda was still active. Everyone else in the top 15 is super old & washed - and they were pretty washed a few years ago also. It's the worst division in all of the UFC. So Amanda dominating it towards the end was not impressive (it was at first, however, and 135 was a great division earlier in Amanda's career)

Val is the most talented woman's fighter ever POUND-4-POUND.
Amanda has had the best career though, and it isn't impossible for Val to top it, but very unlikely at this point given Val's age and seeming decline. I think she would need at least 3 more title defenses to pass Amanda. That would give her the Women's MMA record for title defenses. Maybe something like: Zhang up from 115, Natalia Silva, Blanchfield (or Barber)... seems like who it would be more or less. That's a tall order for her given age but not impossible.
