Farmers walks

I would definitely start doing the walks without straps. If your grip gets fried and you’re not done yet, then add straps, but I think that would be the best way to start building your grip.

Also, if you deadlift, holding your last rep of your last heavy set for as long as possible is a good way to work on your grip.

I guess I was wondering about the inhibiting of the walk weight to accommodate grip ability but I've got to draw a line somewhere and accept grip is a limiting factor in the chain. Have my eye on some local strong man comps in a few years so need to get serious with it.

Been using the captains of crush but I think I need to step my game up. I'll certainly start the last set to failure stuff on lifts below my grip 1RM.

How do you get your steps in with limited space in the current weather, Walk back and forth 8 paces or just stand and hold them?

and is there a benefit difference in trap bar or farmers handles?

2 hour Edit: Remembered why I don't do them with handles. Too much damn work moving the plates around. Screws up the rhythm.

I open my garage doors and walk up to the street and back, about 30-40 steps in all and I turn as well rather than put down, which I probably shouldn't! Weather can go fuck itself.

Doesn't get below -0C often here.

I use trap bar, individual handles would be harder keeping lats contracted to keep weight off legs.
