Media Fans are not happy with Izzy's behavior

Izzy and Colby playing to the same crowd, but instead of stroking their little dicks and laughing maniacally when Colby talks, they get outraged when Izzy does. Kind of hilarious if it wasn't so sad for the sport, turning into shitty as pro wrestling fangirls' wet dream all the time instead of just fights.

This guy.

Did you really imply all of African is an improvised village?

DDP has a right to say what he did because being a champion of a place means living there. This is why sports have a home city, if they move, they no longer represented that city.

Do you not see the irony of your statement, saying Ngannou was from a shitty poor village so he had to get out?

How can he represent that village if he thought life was terrible in that village and needed to live else where?

Do you not understand the story behind someone that didn’t leave their country for better opportunities, but instead stayed, trained, and sought to improve there?

If you listen to DDP he wants to show that African has gyms/trainers that can produce world champions, do you not see the pride in hearing what he has to say?

Do you not see how Africa should be proud to produce a champion that was born, raised, and trained in Africa and fights out of Africa?

You would deny him this accomplishment on the color of his skin?
Are you stupid or something?

And yet Izzy has 10's of thousands of people interacting with his posts

His online engagement is one the highest in the UFC

The interest for their potential fight is already incredibly high. And it will only grow once there is an official announcement

Hate him or love him you are paying attention

Adesanya is out here playing 4D chess while y'all playing tic-tac-toe

He isn’t though you can tell he’s genuinely triggered by DDP’s Africa comment and he’s just being a douche and it just so happens it will create hype for the fight

That is why he feels he is Africa’s first champion, had nothing to do with race.
That’s wonderful. If he wins a belt I’ll be happy for him. I know he doesn’t think it has anything to do with race but it kinda does lol. White South Africa is a product of invasion, colonization, apartheid, and has a rich history of racism. Comparing himself to other Africans and not thinking it could be racist is extremely insensitive and ignorant. There’s a reason why journalists have asked him to revisit and review his comments. Just my opinion.

Ya he did. And he’s been backpedaling and “clarifying”ever since. He didn’t just proclaim his nationality (which is fine), he made a point of slighting other African champs.

Being mindful of a country’s brutally racist history is being overly sensitive but getting upset at Izzy’s angry faceoff is not? Some of you really should read up on your South African history.

Bud, maybe watch the actual interview.... The journalist asked him what the difference was with the other African champs. He just stated the facts that those other fighters don't train and fight out of Africa. That's not a slight, that's just facts. If you can't deal with those facts, you are too sensitive.

History.... With emphasis on history... if you keep holding people to standards from a racist past, you are the one keeping the racism alive. Dricus had nothing to do with apartheid for as far as we know and also shouldn't have to. Apartheid needs to die. Not kept alive by people who insist on applying it to everyhting South African.

It's like comparing any white American to KKK-members or any white German to Nazis. It's just utterly ridiculous and also very racist.

DDP doesn’t bear the sins of what white people generally did in South Africa.

What are the “other Africans” that he say he is comparing himself to?

Is African a nationality or a race?

An individual does not bear the sins of others, even if they are of the same skin color or the sins of their ancestors.

DDP is African, Izzy, Ngannou, and Usman has ancestral roots in Africa but lives else where.

Usman probably is a US citizen, Ngannou probably is a French citizen and Izzy… well you get the idea.

History should never be buried. We can ignore it and forget it or we can continue to learn from it. I choose the latter. I’m not suggesting Dricus should feel guilty for simply being a white South African. I’m just voicing that his comments could be construed as problematic when he brought other Africans into it and suggested that he had more of a claim simply based on his current geography. It’s not like I’m looking for trouble. He opened a can of worms and people have the right to talk about it. I’m not the only one who read his quotes and thought “oh no you didn’t..”.

Sorry I can’t engage with this because this is just way off base. All I can say is words do matter. We have to be accountable for what we say and people have the right to take him to task. It’s late here. You seem like an eager debate bro maybe we can try again tomorrow.

DDP said nothing wrong. Izzy can get emotional about it, but that’s on him.

Very disrespectful for a New Zealander to disrespect an African like that. This would not fly in a NATO nation

So you haven't yet seen the thread of Dana saying he doesn't give a fuck what Izzy said?
Why do I need Dana to weigh in on Izzy being a racist POS? Maybe you’re a fucking moron and that is why you posted that. Sorry if you’re spec ed.
