Fallout TV Series (Premieres April 11)

He’s a really good actor. But I just can’t imagine a tv show based on a video game can be any good. I tried to watch The Witcher. That shit bored the hell out of me. I can’t think of one movie based on a video game that was any good. Doom was mediocre at best. And that’s because it was nothing like I remember the video game being. And probably also because Doom the game was made at a time when you didn’t really need much of a plot for games, so they were able to take a lot of artistic license.

I'll give Fallout a chance because there is no main character to "faithfully" adapt throughout the series and you can plug and play new characters and stories into the universe.

Hold your breath..... The "Last of Us" is coming.

Yeah plot worries me most

Arcane proved that video game stuff can be adapted well but that was animated

Thought you were talking about David Goggins at first and was like

I have no idea who this guy is, but I don't keep up with new movies and tv much. He does look weird, though, so that is probably good. I just hope they do a good job and stick to the style that made Fallout great in the first place. It should be grim and dark, with lots of violence and gore, etc. I hope they don't woke it up.

This is what gives me hope. There's no specific characters or storyline from the game. The quality will be entirely up to the writers.

This is true. This type of game is probably the best choice for a movie adaptation. I think a huge part of why video games don’t translate well into movies is that they have either no plot (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat), or plots what are good enough for video games but not necessarily movies.
Bethesda games have plots, but tue games are aren’t held so tight to those plots that there can be no deviation.

Still, I just don’t get my hopes up for shows and movies based on games I love. I admit I would have to see a Mass Effect movie or show if that came out. And no, not that cartoon shit they did a while back.

Witcher is based on books, both tv show and games.

Who is he playing? The Vault Boy?

Ended up feeling really sorry for him in Shield.
