FALLOUT 4 Official Discussion: Super Stimpak Edition

Fallout games have never been about raising the bar on graphics. Like Skyrim, it's value lies in an open environment that you can explore. There are improvements from FO3 and FO:NV, so I'm satisfied with graphics.
 
I am more concerned about the atmosphere than the graphical fidelity of the game. The blue sky and colorful buildings concern me. I liked Fallout 3's oppressive, "ravaged land" feel. It was part of the reason I enjoyed it far more than New Vegas.

I loved the doomy gloomy vibe of the FO3 landscape as well. That being said, there are bound to be some clear, sunny days that long after the Nuclear Winter has cleared....
As long as the land and the buildings are decrepit and decayed, it should be true to form.
 
Tbh I never thought FO3 or NV looked great. Once the moders have some time with it it will look a lot better

Hopefully the soundtrack is on point. Bethesda is usually really good with them.

Bethesda pissed about the leaks...

Despite not releasing until November 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, there have been some Fallout 4 leaks over the last few days, including screenshots and videos.


Over on the Bethesda forums, Matt Grandstaff, Global Community Lead, has asked everyone to keep the spoilers a secret until launch day:
Head’s up that we’re not allowing links/images/streams/videos to be shared in the forums prior to the release of the game. Folks that are currently sharing assets either have a copy they shouldn’t have or are breaking terms of our NDA with them.

If you see something you think shouldn’t be posted, you’re welcome to PM me, but let’s wait to share this stuff until the game is actually out — posting leaked content will lead to warnings, suspensions, and possibly even a forum ban.

November 10th is right around the corner — let’s keep the spoilers out until then.

Meanwhile, Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, responded to a number of tweets, saying that he won’t be answering any questions pertaining to the leaks:

Saying that he’s “upset” at the leaks, Hines added, “It’s like watching someone else open your Christmas presents in [November]” and “I think you will enjoy the game a lot more if you experience it for yourself instead of seeing someone else do it.”

Clarifying that the Pip-Boy Edition doesn’t include the Season Pass, but rather an ad for it, Hines then said, “Mods will be available to play on consoles [in 2016]. The mod tools will not.”

I just hope they have more songs this time around. As much as i have loved the previous soundtracks, they get tiring after 100 or so hours of the same 30 songs.

Maybe they want everyone to experience the game for themselves. Maybe they don't want people praising the game to a point where people are disappointed once they play it (destiny, imo) or people talk about how Shitty it plays or how it looks that it drives consumers away?

It's reaching but I could see those being some ideas why they don't want it leaked........ Or the game could actually look and play terrible and they want to hide that

I'd probably go ps4 (between console) but I thought I read box would get the mode tool first, could be wrong.

Plus gf bought it for me and got it for box.
 
It's not so much that the graphics are not great, I think it's more that there seems to be very little improvement at all from FO 3. Maybe I'm too used to current gen graphics and am remembering FO 3 incorrectly, but that game play vid posted before does not look much improvement.

To me it looks like Skyrim was a bigger jump over Oblivion than this is to FO 3. I'll love it the same, just a little surprised by how bland all the textures look in the gameplay vids I've seen so far.

You can get a dog companion in Fallout 3, but it's only in one specific location. He's in the junkyard, though I forget exactly where that is. IIRC, it like slightly northwest of that bridge where you do that vampire quest.

the gun play looks smooth as fuck(Id defiantly did some damn good work), i'm not worried about the gunplay.

It was awesome when they patched it so Dogmeat didn't die in like two hits anymore. Those feels when you look for him after a fight and he's been decapitated :icon_cry2

Later on I will, PC is too weak to run it. I'll get my upgrades and maybe it'll be on sale during the Xmas sale then I can try the mods


And shit, I really thought it was box that got the mod tool first, oh well not going to complain about a free game since the gf bought it

On the leaks of game play that are out? Those are not amazing at all, and I'm a console gamer.

Like I said I don't care, and understand why a game of this breadth would look inferior to other games, but the graphics most certainly are not amazing.

Man, Ive noticed that, too. Im getting what I call "2/3rds Syndrome". Seems like a game can hook me till Im about 2/3rds of the way though, then it seems too often I just don't get back to it. No real reason.

I think they are just sour that details are out before they were ready to share them...and now people are asking a bunch of questions based off the leaks so more people are searching for the leaks and watching the vids...they probably hope that by not commenting on the leaks, people will avoid the leaks and wait til the 10th...

i had that feeling for a while but for the last month or so i've just been back into gaming again like when i was younger.
 
Personally i dont see a problem with the graphics, not that it matters much because i can just put it on the highest quality and mod the graphics if they bother me
