FALLOUT 4 Official Discussion: Super Stimpak Edition

Because we've been waiting seven years? Bethesda is pretty tried and true, so we know what to expect from a gameplay standpoint.

he has a point, y'all haven't seen game play an its already more over hyped then it should be, but for some reason ya make a few complains about this game your labled evil?
Get some game-play first before yall start shitting your pants.

As for VATS. This isn't FO1 or FO2 so no VATS needs to get taken out . Also hopefulyl they actually try to make decent loot, instead of a "laser pistol +2" or w/e

Id kill so many people to make this game come out 24 hours earlier.

Me too. Then I would take off work Monday through Friday instead of Tuesday through Friday. I felt Monday would be a wasted day if I stayed home....

It's the first time they officially announced it and showed a teaser...but it wasn't a surprise...if you guys follow gaming sites and forums you knew months ago that FO4 was coming at E3...as a Bethesda fan I'm glad people are excited...but the reaction seems overboard to me...

I need some help because I don't really know anything about building a PC.

These are my specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @3.20GHz 3.20GHz
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5670
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 (MS-7817)

I know that the Graphics card needs to be replaced to play Fallout 4. Can anyone tell me an ideal GPU to replace it with considering the other specs? By ideal, I mean suitable and not ridiculously expensive or hard to find.

Cmon man you can see you're in the minority on vats. Most of us like it. And we're geeking out because we know it's going to be awesome. Quit being such a Debbie Downer in a hype thread. I don't find hype threads for the new final fantasy games and tell people how much I hate the series now.

Get a PS4 or XBone and connect to your tv. Unless you intend to play other games at super graphics quality.

I'm one of the biggest Bethesda fans on this site and even I don't get why everyone is so hyped... FO4 isn't a surprise and they didn't show gameplay...not sure why some of you are jizzing your pants...give me a release date and show me gameplay before I start to get hyped...

Because even if most of us knew it was coming it's still nice to have it confirmed and have something to look forward to now. Also looks like it's going to get a 2015 release cause Bethesda Store is suggesting a 2015 release.

Go to the computer thread in this forum and ask, you'll get better answers.

Apparently Fall Out 4 is not "next-gen" enough.

Bro do you even The Order 1886? We all want next gen graphics and that one clearly has the best so therefore its the best next gen game right...

Well, for starters what's your RAM?

Pretty pumped up that they finally 'revealed' this & hoping that more of the disgruntled employees "leaks" pan out (the ones with Fallout 3 characters appearing in the game etc).

Curious if they would consider having a DC expansion, although I think that would probably be too large for a single expansion DLC.

Perhaps (again wishful thinking) there is a remaster for FO3 for current gen systems. Now that is a remaster that I would definitely pick up!

Your CPU is fine. I'd go to 8GB of RAM and definitely upgrade your GPU. Go for a 970 if you can swing it. That will be more than enough for FO4 and future proof you for a while.

I don't care about graphics as long as it runs well and isn't buggy.

Lol at the salt in this post.

He asked about upgrading his PC, not buying a console.

SSgt Dickweed: 8GB of RAM is the minimum for FO4, pick up a GTX 970 GPU, and make sure you have a power supply that can handle it. Advice I was given was a 600w PSU should be more than enough.

Once I heard Bethesda was going to E3 for the first time it was confirmation for me...today was just a teaser to remind people that they are the main event in less than two weeks and they will really show us something...

just got the 970 for my alienware, and it plays new vegas amazing. The graphics and smoothness are crazy

If anyone in here is new to the Fallout series, don't listen to people telling you only to play New Vegas. New Vegas is good, but the feeling of Fallout 3 can't be replaced.

Fallout 3 is such an experience. 7 years have went by and I still think about it. New Vegas doesn't have the same sense of immersion and impersonality.

I think it mostly had to do with Obsidian being better at dialogue and characters. Plus quite a few of the devs are ex-Black Isle guys that had worked on Fallout 1and 2, and it showed.'it felt like it had a deeper connection to the original game in small but noticeable ways to old school fans.

That said, both are fantastic. This being the Internet, both games get more hate than they deserve. More than once I saw people saying New Vegas was "just an expansion", which I find laughable.

I hope the rumors that modding will be difficult aren't true. I just got into modding and was really looking forward to that lol.

Still massively have a boner over this.

It's doubtful that Bethesda will make modding difficult. However, they might attempt to do a pay-for-mods situation like they tried to do with Skyrim on Steam.

New Vegas isn't too intensive. I had two 6850s in xf and it played it flawlessly.

yea, i went ahead and got the 970 mainly because i want to be set for a few solid years for any of the new larger games out there like fallout 4.

I had a good feeling it was coming with all the rumors and whatnot but that doesn't matter. I am super pumped this got officially announced. I absolutely cannot wait to play it. I'm just hoping for a 2015 release and a cool preorder/prestige package available.

Graphics looked pretty good to me compared to fo3 and fonv. I am in the middle of another play through of fo3 and tbh the game is so great that after a couple minutes I don't even noticed the graphics. I assume fo4 will be the same way.

Exactly. I hope I can last on this build for a while. As long as my 2500k CPU hangs in there I should be okay.

It will be interesting to see the pay for mod thing will work out. I can see a lot of mods being free. Because so many are just crappy buggy add ons. But maybe some deserve money? I don't have an opinion on it yet.

Amy way, hope you're right about the ease of modding.

And I just rewatched the trailer, the graphics were actually pretty good. The dog doesn't look the greatest but he moved well, and the environment looked well done. The most important part for me is immersive exploration areas. I loved in Fallout 3 how you'd get do deep into DC. You'd be out of stimpacks, almost out of ammo, you had to avoid battles to save ammo, good times. If I get that, with great looking environments, games like the order just don't compare where to only get one route to follow but it looks nice.

Exiting the subway, and entering into the area outside the capital was possibly my favorite moment in gaming ever. Just had a rifle, and there's literally a battle field in front of me with super mutants everywhere. Blown out trenches, mercenary groups, brotherhood of steel. If there isn't a similar moment in this game I'll mod one in personally lol

Oh really? Maybe I wasn't addressing him but these type of posts??

Let people play whatever they fuck they want to. This thread is about Fallout 4, not what's superior.

I think they will pay some top modders to produce DLC and even expansions, basically outsourcing added content while the team at Bethesda moves on. They won't try that open marketplace again for a long time imo. It was a disaster and it would be again.

Actually, I'd be willing to pay for mods... but only under these conditions.

1. They're cheap. Anywhere from $1-$5.
2. They're easily integrated. It took me 12 hours to download, install, and troubleshoot all the mods for Skyrim, it was a pain, but worth it.
3. Mods are seamless with the rest of the game. The mods I have are still problematic. It's a pain to get the game going, and crashes on a regular basis.
4. 90% of the money goes to the actual mod creator. Steam's system on only 25% going to the modder is assenine. If they want their point of flesh, fine, 10% should be sufficient. Anymore, then you're gouging the consumer and the mod creator.

If any of these aren't included, fuck it.

Think of the mods in a years time with FO4 as well it will be like a new game

I personally thought that Obsidian did a better job with story telling an character development in FO than Bethesda ever did.

Also, I hope VATS is gone, but I doubt they'll ever get rid of it. It's like, "oh hey, here's a chunk of abilities I'll never upgrade".

Anyone know where i can get a good deal on fallout 4 for ps4?

I'm not hyped.

The trailer doesn't really show anything, its just a teaser.

Very glad it's not cross-generation, very positive sign.

It's taking place in Boston? Couldn't tell that from the trailer, it looks like somewhere in the mid-west.

Show me some gameplay that's fun and worthy of the next-gen consoles, then I'll start to get hyped.

I agree. It wasn't even in-game footage, and it still looked old-gen.

So everyone have a early game-build planned out yet? I think you get a min of 1 in each special with 21 points to use, for a total of 28. Mine's probably gonna look something like this:

Strength: 4
Perception: 4
Endurance: 4
Charisma: 2
Intelligence: 4
Agility: 4
Luck: 6

Looking to get armorer, rifleman, gun-nut, and better critical. Still little info on most perks but those are the one's I'm eyeing atm. Probably going to increase my luck to max as the first thing for special upgrades.
