Fair DUI Flyer

Not saying you did anything wrong bud. I'm just saying that you likely happened upon an officer who was new or just didn't see it worth the effort to battle with you over something frivolous. Those things aren't likely to always work (the sheet)
I know I didn't personally do anything wrong. I meant that in general terms. The majority of people searched at sobriety check points have committed no crime, and therefore I would argue that no justice is really being pursued against them. I understand and respect your point of view though.

I laugh at the part that says put the ticket under my windshield and I don't have to sign anything. If you rolled up to the checkpoint with an expired license plate in Virginia, be prepared to give your license and registration. You will be issued a summons and if you don't sign it, you go to jail.

That is true. You do have to sign a summons in Virginia, so if that is the case, you are obligated to roll down your window. That jpeg in the original post is not the form for Virginia. There is one for each state.

That's the difference between a ticket and a summons. One is just a fine, the other is a kindly show up in court and let the judge decide what we should do with you.

My skin isn't dark
I don't drive a donk
and I'm not from the hood

That's why I don't drive through 50% of the areas in my city. I'd get my ass beat.

Who's the fool now

I live 3 miles from the Canadian border and I've only had to go through one citizen checkpoint.
I wonder why? What with the thousands of illegal Canadians streaming across the boarder daily

If you go into those 50% percent
areas in your city you speak about,
you'll likely realize that you
have nothing to fear. Smile, be
friendly, be respectful.. (you know,
how white people always tell us
to treat cops)... & you'll come out
of it alive. Probably with a full belly
& a few laughs

It's all good man.

I went to elementary school in one of those areas.
I work at a level 2 trauma center near one of those areas.
I take care of and serve the people in those areas and have had the blood of the the people from those areas splashed on my scrubs.

I'm friendly and respectful to everyone, from the cops to the handcuffed felons that come in.

But, smiling at the wrong person can get you attacked, (you have to know this).

And you're right about the full belly and good laughs.

The point I was trying to make is
that all people of all colors and
backgrounds can enter those
areas and leave it completely
comfortably if they come & go
correctly...

Such is not the case with police
in this country. As it has been
proven...

You're right about the smiling
thing. It can easily be
misinterpreted by most people.
I'm just a smilin' type of mf'r though =D

Maybe they should teach a class about coming and going correctly to all white folk at public schools. :).

We disagree about a few things based on our life experiences, but you're a good guy and this ain't the war room, so just gotta agree to disagree with respect, which is what it all boils down to.

Forget the school.

It starts with the home.
Our first school...

Can't go wrong saying nothing. It really never hurts.

Unless its a parking ticket, in Virginia all moving violations go on a summons and depending on the violation, you have the option to prepay vs coming to court.

That is very interesting. So good luck attempting this nonsense in Virginia.

It means it can work to avoid sobriety tests, so long as you don't have a taillight out or your tags aren't expired. Under those circumstances, there is no reason to roll your window down at a sobriety check point.

I think the number of times that would be a successful approach would be greatly outweighed by the amount of times where one would find oneself in custody.

Naah. Most people are not driving around with a taillight out or expired tags. Those individuals are in the minority.
