What province are you in? It wouldn't matter in BC.

Are you unionized? If your court job is union you'll probably get to keep your job. I'm a provincial employee, and I've seen some people get busted for shady shit and end up keeping their jobs.

But you deserve to get busted if you've been carrying baggies around for ten years, that shit smells man.

I can't work in my field with a record. Not just my job but I lose 6 years experience too.

I went down for some oxycodone and just got out of jail on Monday. I was looking at 2-20 years and managed to get probation.

Your crime is a misdemeanor. Meaning, depending on what class it is, you can only receive up to one year in county jail. County jail is no big deal. On top of that, most county jails don't want to house someone for a year, so they have what is called good time, and as long as you don't do something seriously fucking dumb, you'll only serve like 1/3 or 1/4 of the time that they give you.

Now, the thing is, a class A misdemeanor gets you up to a year. Pot isn't even a class A. When I was in jail I went to court and an old Mexican dude that looked like Danny Trejo's cousin received 75 days for some weed, meaning he would only be in jail for 25.

More than likely you're gonna get probation. Idk what you're all scared of. County jail isn't federal pound you in the ass prison anyways. Stop whining.

Also, to most jobs a record is a felony record. This isn't a felony.

Yeah, you missed the part where this happened in Canada, making all of what you posted irrelevant.
 
If it happened in Canada, it is probably more lenient than what I said. In fact, I'm certain of it. My experience was in Texas, the worst place to go to jail in the US. I seriously doubt Canada is harsher than Texas, but if it is, shame on me.
 
So you were on early in the AM making 10 threads in a row, leave to go to subway, decide to stick weed in your pocket, get arrested, get bailed out on a Sunday all before 1pm?
 
Damn man, that sucks. Unfortunate that this had to happen.

I always thought Canada was less strict when it came to weed, but having it fall out of your pocket at that exact time was just bad timing.

There is no getting bailed out for that. The police let you go on a promise to appear.

Canada is less strict, but you're not giving the cop much choice when you pull weed out of your pocket in a business on front of other people. He pretty much has to arrest you.
 
Do they have ARD in Canada for first time offenders? If so jump all over that shit and you won't have a record.

Didn't go to jail he arrested me in the subway then charged me gave me a court ticket and let me go. But yeah pretty much. 1 in a billion chance this happened
 
I'd be way too embarrassed to go back to that Subway again as well. Is there another Subway in the area?
