Yeah I hate that. People say shit incorrectly so often that the losers who write dictionaries start adding the incorrect things as "acceptable" variations.

Then the idiots point to that dictionary as proof that they're saying it right.

Ahh, my friend. Youre off base on this one. Time is one of the hardest to pin down topics weve ever encountered.

It isnt universal, and psychologically, we know that time is subjective. Its totally reasonable to say a day was long. Obviously whats being aaid here is the day "felt" long. When someone says its gonna be a long day, they always mean to connect this with one or more people's subjective experience. As in, "its been a long day for these roofers, because the sun was out and it was hot."

Difficulty, novelty and stress have the effect of making time feel slower.

Important emotional events have a way of feeling longer to pass for me. So if it's been 3 years it still feels like 1 and a half or 2 years.

Non important event can feel like ages ago.

That's a good question. I would think probably. What do you think?

I also think thst individually, maybe the vest way to live a longer life is to try and intentionally retain a sense of wonder and to consistently subject ones self to novel situations. You wont necessarily add years to your life but youll maybe make those years feel longer.
