Up until a little while ago, it would be because of their built in success of familiar IP's. I mean, you're acting like AC, R6, and FC weren't anything to take notice of if you were an investor. Their market value being quite high up until it recently fell off a cliff, proves that there was plenty of reason to invest in the company prior to that.Let's make this simple. If I'm an investor, why would I put my money into Ubisoft instead of other publishers?
It doesn't matter if the games themselves were "mediocre". For the most part, they were selling rather well. This is why I believe you're just conflating your personal views on the creative side of the company, with financial success. They had no less than three flagship franchises that were printing money, regardless of how tired they may have seemed to you. That's a pretty good foundation no matter how you slice it.When I said circling the drain I was primarily referring to their mediocre output that was trending the wrong way
You're just wrong on this one, and keep moving the goal posts to try and make yourself less wrong. Let it go. Their current failings have everything to do with their current failures. Not some ten year trend, where they releasing games that made upwards of a billion+ dollars for them.
