Exposing the Grift: Go Woke Go Broke

He lays out in detail how many "woke" movies are highly successful and why and as well as the ones that aren't and how the "anti woke" reviewers are disingenuous in their critiques, such as The Critical Drinker.

Cliffs:

- Reviewers like The Critical Drinker couch valid criticism in culture war, anti-woke bullshit, basically a lot of baiting and riling up their audience. The Critical Drinker in particular he cites several example of and breaks down where he's saying valid things and where he's misconstruing things. He also shows a lot of comments echoing him and spreading divisive rhetoric

- There's shit loads of "woke" movies that are successful but they're conveniently ignored by the anti-woke types. Even some that aren't considered good by most still made shit loads of money. I'm not giving specific examples that he uses in the video because it'd take too long. He cites a lot of data here.

- Yasuke, the black samurai in the new Assassin's Creed was a real person (there's even a painting from the 1700s depicting him), and Japanese games have already had him as a character so putting him in a video game isn't even new. He has a lengthy section on this

- He mentions specific examples like the live action Mulan that's been called woke when some of the things she does, she does in the original movie AND there's all sorts of fantastic power in it anyway

- He cites many specific examples, breaks down "woke", and breaks down the meaning of, "go woke, go broke"

My cliffs can't really do it justice. Great watch IMO.

Take it to the war room num nuts. No-one gives a shit.

what is woke though?
Generally it is a bunch of creepy weirdo's with an unhealthy obsession with the skin colour, genitals and sexual preference of others. It typically presents as a need to force their political opinion into every conversation and piece of media, even at the cost of making themselves completely insufferable and turning off all the unfortunate, normal people that they are inflicting their bullshit on.

Not bad but does lack context.

I think if you go too extreme in either direction it becomes stupid and pandering and you'll most likely fail with the masses.

In general if I can tell a movie is really pushing an agenda and not even doing it in a subtle or story driven way, it puts me off the whole thing. And i see a lot of movies do this nowadays.

So i think go woke go broke is a thing, its also a way for some corporations to pander and make a bit of easy money, and its a problem with the too far right content too. I just don't see a lot of that in the mainstream.

Congratulations... that response makes no sense whatsoever.

Did you even respond to the right post?
<{vega}>

It does make sense and I did, you described The Critical Drinker and others, good job. There's plenty of anti-woke grifters that fit your description to a T, thank you for the meaningful contribution to the thread

Personally, I find this shit to be hilarious... watching Disney losing billions of dollars pushing politics into everything and pandering to a tiny percentage of society, only to be completely rejected by everyone else.

They follow up their $180 million dollar disaster about a coven of lesbian space witches, that was described by the cast as the gayest star wars content ever with...

...a brand new show about a coven of lesbian witches, described by the cast as the gayest show Disney has ever produced.

It's like they are trying to one up each other on how much money they can lose and how little audience they can attract.

I was honestly devastated to hear that Disney cleared house and fired all the activist assholes... at least we have several years worth of woke garbage in the pipeline and the dumpster fire that is Lucasfilm.

Pointing out the creepy obsessions of others, is not a creepy obsession. Clearly there are a hell of a lot of people who agree with him and are sick to death of the politicization of entertainment by a bunch of obsessed weirdos such as yourself.

Here, let me timestamp the video I put in the OP that you didn't watch before commenting that shows and names him in Japanese video games and show other sources that you can go and look up yourself:

There's also video essays breaking down his bullshit in detail while citing his own videos and the movies he's talking about as sources. He's a race/sex/etc baiter and turns everything into identity politics. So like... what're you even talking about? He obsessed with this shit

Pretty sure he was made "samurai" like a Bob Sapp figure.

I'm not watching Brett Cooper, there's multiple references and sources in the video and he shows and names Japanese video games (he even shows the gameplay footage) where he's a character as well as other media including what looks like an anime. He also names and shows a history book that mentions him and cites sources of historians who've written about him

I watched your video and I showed you a clip of that woman that was specifically translated to Japanese so that the Japanese gamers can understand when Ubisoft's producer said " I can't empathize with Japanese people so I was looking for a non-Japanese character."

For a game set in Japan.

I'm surprised you know that girl, which I don't. You must be a culture warrior.

If the producer actually said that, that sucks. Haven't found that quote yet. You've not touched anything I've said nor the sources shown like the fact that there's Japanese games that have him as a playable character so what Ubisoft is doing isn't even new. Also,

Oh, I also went to the video on Brett's tiktok and the comments on her own video are all like, "uhhh, this dude was a real person and is well known in Japan". There's also two characters and one of them is Japanese, this dude ain't even the only character lol.
