Exposing the Grift: Go Woke Go Broke

Roughly translated as: After our last back and forth you got humiliated so badly once again you disappeared for weeks

This thread has been a series of self owns by woke warriors with you and deviante the worst offenders
iirc, you were spiking the football about Superman struggling to break even after it was already profitable

keep on living in your world of delusion & loneliness, bucko

No, you were the retard trying to claim superman was profitable not understanding that production budget isn't full budget and that they don't get 100% of tickets sales.

So you were the rip roaring spastic trying to claim profitability off of about 300mil of sales because you are a complete mong

So you don't remember correctly and nor is your pretense at not remembering you getting your ass spanked in that debate being bought by anyone.

What was also hilarious is you and the other guy trying to claim fantastic 4 and superman as woke as you thought the IPs themselves would carry shit movies to a win for the "grift of go woke".

Neither move is according to consensus opinion - the phrase you introduced into the conversation I believe - woke and collectively they "struggled to break even" which was my original contention.

I can explain the meaning of "struggle to break even" to you if you continue to struggle with basic English.

Poor little Henry. I don't know why you do it to yourself.

Not tired of having your pants pulled down and your arse spanked in debate. Gone from having piss weak arguments to just deliberately misrepresenting what was stated by either side.

Deceitful as well as thick as pig shit. ;)

WB has made a 1.2 times return on its Superman investment in three weeks.
"This you?"

Ya cretin.

If I had been so soundly ridiculed in the same place as many times as you have i would stop coming back.

Every time we have debated you have been absolutely slaughtered because your adherence to your extreme political ideology causes you to ignore facts.

Its embarrassing as fuck. Not as embarrassing as the entire nonsense of deviante who just puts on ignore everyone who exposes his gross ignorance and stupidity. But embarrassing none the less. At least he can protect his echo chamber of prejudice and stupidity I guess.

What was wrong with the old logo? I did a brief search and didn't see any woke outrage saying it's racist or anything like that. Am I missing something?
If the CEO wasn't some typical woke white woman, this rebrand wouldn't be all that notable and just put down as corporate branding update, that turns everything into some sterile lifeless environment. I don't think there was any real backlash towards the old logo and design of the restaurants beforehand. It was just always thought of some old southern comfort food place, so when the woke CEO decided to change it up, the internet took the wheel and turned it into a culture war.

Either way, doesn't look like it's a very popular decision. If they still maintain the same 9000 calorie meals, though, I'm sure people will get over it.

My favorite part of this is how many of these stupid terms were redundant from the moment they were conceived. They were only conceived to be political cudgels. It's fun to replace them with real words that already meant what they mean that they didn't improve, or what they really mean.

privilege (white people)
environmental violence (pollution)
dialoguing (liberal lecture)
triggering (upsetting)
othering (stigmatizing)
microaggression (condescension)
holding space (I don't even know wtf this is supposed to mean)
body shaming (fat)
subverting norms (disrupting)
systems of oppression (white people)
cultural appropriation (LOL what Seth Green was in Can't Hardly Wait, can't type it)
Overton window (mainstream)
existential threat (threat)
radical transparency (transparency)
stakeholders (white people)
the unhoused (homeless)
food insecurity (hungry)
housing insecurity (renter)
person who immigrated (immigrant)
birthing person (woman)
cisgender (heterosexual)
deadnaming (address)
heteronormative (normal)
patriarchy (white men)
LGBTQIA+ (gay)
BIPOC (minority)
allyship (hippie)
incarcerated people (prisoner)
involuntary confinement (imprisoned)

Haha nicely done.

I look forward to watching my leftoid sister squirm at thanksgiving dinner trying to remember which words she’s not allowed to say anymore. And the general change in discourse because of this edict.

Never heard some of those and barely encountered the ones I know in the wild in my lefty city.

Fucking lol at Overton window

A large part of why Disney went full retard and woke is this woman, Jennifer Lee - director of Frozen who became the animation head of Disney.

When she got the top spot, she immediately insisted on a 50/50 male/female balance, particularly POC female animators and also more nonbinary or trans creatives. Demoted male animators, directors or other creatives and relegated them to the side.

In trying to do this, a lot of people with much less experience and talent were chosen just due to their identity and politics.

The Woman Who Destroyed Disney’s Animation Division with DEI

Jennifer Lee was named chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios following the departure of John Lasseter from the company. She is also the screenwriter and co-director of Frozen II.

The current state of Disney Animation is under scrutiny, with concerns about its direction and leadership. There is no doubt that over the past few years significant changes have taken place, leading to dissatisfaction among fans, employees and industry observers alike. In a recent exposé on Film Threat, allegations were made about the decline of Disney Animation, attributing it to decisions made by key figures, particularly Jennifer Lee. Lee, known for her involvement in successful projects like “Frozen, who” has been accused of prioritizing ideological agendas over creative excellence.”

The article suggests that under Lee’s leadership, Disney Animation has become mired in issues related to diversity, gender relations, and content quality. Concerns have been raised about the impact of these decisions on the creative process and the overall reputation of the studio.

With [John] Lasseter out of the way, he was replaced at Disney Animation by Jennifer Lee and Pete Docter at Pixar. Lee was the writer and co-director of the smash-hit Frozen, and Docter had been a creative force at Pixar for years, directing Up, Inside Out, and Monsters, Inc. At the outset, the choices appeared solid. Still, in the case of Disney Animation, radical changes needed to be made in the racial and gender makeup of its leadership and creative process. This change began with Raya and the Last Dragon.

[…] The initial directors were Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins, with Adele Lim (coming off her success with Crazy Rich Asians) as the sole writer. Unfortunately, this trio was seen as being “Lasseter people.”

Rumor has it that Lee was gunning for Briggs and Wellins by foisting impossible tasks on them to either get them fired or, better yet, force them to quit. Being the veteran talent that they were, the traps didn’t work. Briggs was demoted to “co-director,” and Wellins was given a Disney+ series to direct.

[…] From here, Raya and the Last Dragon turned from being a traditional Disney animated production to slowly transforming into Disney’s first DEI test case. Step one was to load the entire project with female South Asian animators and talent from within the company, then female Asian animators, then female POC animators, and the rest. But that wasn’t enough. Rather than pull in other artists from within, a major recruitment push was made to hire more women from outside the company to reach a 50/50 male/female balance for equity’s sake.

[…] with Raya and the Last Dragon, the goal wasn’t to bring diversity, equity, and inclusion into the existing community of Disney animators but to replace it with a radicalized group of female activists completely. One female POC animator contacted us about her experience with WiA to further her career in animation. She was looking for mentorship and resources to break into the industry. While initial discussions were cordial, she was quickly ghosted by the organization because she did not live in Los Angeles and could not be helpful to their cause.

Additional reports from insider WDW Pro indicate a growing sense of disillusionment among Disney animators, with some expressing fear of reprisal for expressing moderate political viewpoints. There were also allegations of a toxic work environment, where dissenting voices are marginalized and creativity is stifled. Furthermore, there are doubts about Disney’s ability to produce high-quality animation in the future. Many believe that a complete overhaul of the studio’s leadership and practices is necessary to restore its former glory.

Alan Ng and WDW Pro discuss this situation here, calling Ms. Lee the “secret woman behind Disney animation’s collapse.”

It remains to be seen whether Disney will take decisive action to address these concerns and rebuild its animation division, but I don’t have much faith in them anymore.

Honestly think subverting norms is just another way of saying being a deliberately antagonistic cunt

Wasn't Raya a big hit and well received?

Wasn't Raya a big hit and well received?

As far as I know, Raya was considered a box office flop.

"Raya and the Last Dragon grossed a modest $130.4 million worldwide against a budget of over $100 million. This made it one of Disney Animation's lowest-grossing films in decades."

But even if it was successful (which it wasn't) that's only one movie. Disney has been doing flop after flop for a while now.

This caused Disney to get finally rid of Jennifer Lee as head of animation recently.

These guys are like flat earthers when it comes to this topic Hog

Like to routinely promote their stupidity, lack of reasoning skills and common sense

Oh I agree on Disney being mostly slop recently. But the reasons are far more mundane and boring.

Have you seen Raya?
