Media Ex-fighter with a 5-4 UFC record says Chimaev winning is a disaster

I'm not a Mitchell fan, but did he say that was the crappiest performance in the UFC period? He only been watching a month?
<Neil01>

"Ex-fighter with a 5-4 UFC record" seems like a weirdly disrespectful way of saying Din Thomas
The Kumquat mear riders can'r find fault in what Din says, so they've all resorted to attacking him as a fighter and as a person. It's happening on twitter, as well

The fuck is this thread title lmao.
OP just sprinkling into his title

Why are you trying to shit on Din Thomas?

Dude was a pioneer for lower weight class MMA, was top 10 in his era and had some pretty big wins including Jens Pulver and Matt Serra.
Was a BEAST back then too when he beat serra

He had great hands, wrestling and a black belt in bjj.

Could’ve probably been one of the best in the division if he kept up that momentum

But iirc he fell out of love with training and competing after that fight

Always liked the guy but I have to take issue with this "Din" shit. What are you cooking? Man the name is Dean, bro, like Herb Dean, Dean Cain, Cain Velasquez. Come on fam get it right.

Read OP trying to figure out the connection between Chimaev and Din's UFC record...

<redcard>

As for Khamzat, who cares about hypothetical scenarios in his future, the fight with DDP is about as exciting a matchup as I could think of
<{JustBleed}>

Is he wrong though??

unfortunately, Khamzat has been a huge disappointment when it comes to consistently fighting, based on the evidence we have it's objectively better for DDP to win if you care about watching entertaining championship fights.

Khamzat has fought just TWO TIMES SINCE SEPTEMBER 2022!

Fuck yeah. Well rounded. Athletic. Experienced

He was top tier pre TUF which is just a bit too far to have reached the same level of fame as the GSP- Conor era guys.

He was fighting in the 1990s. Din is an OG.

You can tell that he is respected by the people who were around in that time. That's why he has had TV and UFC media work.
I agree that he burned out. They were killing eachother for peanuts back then amd I bet he had a lot of damage and injuries, that era they basically had unofficial fights in the gym often.

I looked him up and he beat:
Rich Clementi (RNC)
Clay Guida (UD) &
Jeremy Stephens (armbar)

In his 27th- 29th fights.

I know it's clickbait ragebait, or whatever.
It's a sad state of affairs that people would resort to disrespecting the guys who paved the way for the sport to thrive just for attention or because they are butthurt that Din said what 90% of people are thinking which is the Khamzat is a liability to show up and you are lucky to see him 1x/year.
That's true. He fought 5x since summer 2020.

which is all din implied

No, he basically says Chimaev can't be trusted to ever fight again.

"If Khamzat wins it's a disaster! You can't tell me a part of you isn't thinking 'This fight might not actually happen.' Some of these guys habitual
struggle in just making it to a dance. I'm not going to be pessimistic about it and will say he's going to show up now. But if he does and is able
to win, do we trust him to be able to show up again for a fight? That's the thing."

"Can he do it twice? Because we need movement. I hate when it's static and there's no movement in these divisions, and in order to be movement
in the divisions, the champions have to fight."

And is he wrong?
He has 3 fights in the last 3 years.
The UFC wants their champions to be active, not injured or making excuses.
Its even worse when a fighter is undefeated because stripping them of the belt means whomever wears the belt next isn't respected as champion.

Khamzat messed up the entire card by not making weight against Diaz. Then you got 3 different times when the Leon Edwards fight fell thru. Then you got him having visa issues. Then he pulled out of the fight with Whittaker. Yes, some of the Leon fights fell thru because of Leon, but having Khamzat involved is like a bad omen of fights being cancelled. So it's not like ppl are randomly making shit up about fights not happening with Chimaev involved.

But I will say Din Thomas thinking Imavov vs Caio being a snooze fest is absurd. & Imavov being undeserving of a title shot soon is also insane. Also, RDR barley beating bobby knuckles via split decision doesn't warrant a title shot over Imavov sleeping a former champion & potentially beating someone as serious as Caio.

I like Din, the video/OP guy is retarded, but you make good points. Imavov is absolutely deserving, moreso than RDR, whose most recent win was by far his least impressive, and it could easily have gone the other way.
