According to Bloody-Disgusting set visit,

previous record holder was Dead Alive with 1,000 gallons of fake blood used...

Evil Dead (2013) uses over 50,000 gallons of fake blood.... for just ONE SCENE... thats 50x gorier than Dead Alive.... and all gore is non slapstick.

They are calling it the horror movie of all horrors and the most terrifying film ever made.... scarier than Exorcist and Shining, more disturbing than A Serbian Film and Cannibal Holocaust and over 50x gorier than Dead Alive and the original Evil Dead

According to the article, the trailer doesnt even SCRATCH THE SURFACE as to how violent and scary the movie is... in fact, the trailer used the LEAST scary and gory bits

Meh. I'll believe it when I see it.

They really seem to be hyping up the "gore", which means it'll probably be terrible. 50,000 gallons of fake blood? That's ridiculous for an entire movie. For just one scene? Yeah, utterly unnecessary.

Actually, the script (first draft) is leaked and if you read it you will understand why that specific scene needs a lot of blood.

Its actually very well made and all positive feedback so far.... the bloody-disgusting article had extremely good things to say.

I can't imagine how a single scene can use 50k gallons of fake blood and still manage to be a decent movie scene.

Sometimes using a lot of fake blood makes a scene just stupid and not scary at all. I'm just like "hey look, more fake blood". Mostly the scary scenes are not the ones with the most blood. However, in most scenes adding a realistic amount of blood per dead person will add a lot of scaryness to a scene because of the realism.

I hope they can pull this off.

... I will probably not see this film. Eventually this shit becomes pornographic

but evil dead movies is suppose to have slap stick doe

the Trailer looks pretty good but the blood does look a bit over done

This is exactly how I feel about it at the moment. After watching the trailer I was like... meh, whatever.

50,000 gallons of fake blood in one scene is the definition of slapstick.

Looking forward to the film, though.

somehow, i dont think it's going for "realistic".

More than likely another remake where they miss the point entirely. Evil Dead was a goofy fun monster flick. This isn't something you can remake on purpose.

Lol, I know. And in most films that doesn't result in scary at all. Just a bit gross in most cases.

yeah, im not crazy about gore or gross out horror.

the best horror takes place off screen. the key to good horror is letting the imagination run wild.

i still like some stuff like The Thing where they show everything, but it never translates to "scary" for me.

i seriously doubt they don't understand Evil Dead. If you're stuck doing a remake, it's probably better to go a very different route.

I think this might be one case where remaking the film makes a lot of sense. The original is a scary premise that takes a comedic route...so, what if they took the scary route? well, here you go 2013.
