I've never feared it, still don't after being trapped in an elevator twice.

First time, I was trapped for 45 minutes with a couple other people at my work.

Second time, my kid and I were visiting University of Pittsburgh and we were planning on taking the elevator as high as it would go in the Cathedral of Learning. It just stopped at floor 19, had to use the phone to call the state police. We were stuck for almost half an hour.

No. But my childhood friend was scared of elevators. He lived on the last floor and would always take the stairs. Once we decided to drag him into an elevator but he put up a good fight. So we decided to let him walk.

That's probably one of my worst fears is being stuck in the elevator for hours or perhaps even days. Especially if the elevator is hot inside.

Yes, if I can take the stairs I will.

Aren't many around here ... and I'm not lazy, I'll use the stairs instead of waiting for it to come from the top (second floor).

No. Only because FF training has taught me how to get out of them. Probably some of the most fun training I've done was elevator rescue.

I got stuck once for an hour, it was at the end of a work day as well 5.30-6.30 which made it more annoying.

There was 4 of us in there, fortunately it was a really big lift so we all had room to sit down.

If it was standing room only I would've been more freaked out.

After that I always took the stairs down at the end of the day (9th floor).

Yes

I know a lady who got stuck in a home elevator and no one was at the house, they were up north for the summer, and she forgot to bring her cell phone.

She lucked out as someone checked on the house that day, and heard her yelling to get out.

At college there was an elevator for wheelchairs to our dorm rooms, one night we all jumped in it and started jumping up and down, a few days later some poor sap wheeled into the elevator and when it set off it dropped down 2ft and wouldn’t move. poor guy was stuck there for a few hours, we were stupid young kids
