Watched the highlights yeah they are just going like 60%
yup. this is just a month before the November basho, and that's the important one.I don't necessarily blame them, who wants to get injured and have to pull out next month?
haha yeah. The matches are so funny.
Gonoyama v Onosato today looked like two dudes just bumping bellies
I think most, from what i've read understand it's not 100% and prefer to see it for what it is, a very well done presentation of a beautiful, old sport, with rules and traditions quite different from one sees in "western" sporting events. almost without exception, what i read online is reviews from people that had a great time and loved the exhibition. there are some purists grumbling but that's unavoidable and, thankfully, not indicative of the majority. personally i wish i was there to see it live. They are in jungyo mode to make sure the beauty of sumo gets efficiently and safely demonstrated. British audience seems naive or mature enough to accept what it is but some show skepticism as if Royal Albert Hall was ridiculed by sweaty mongoloid men with exposed butt cheek.
