I was reading the JSA might want to continue a business relationship with him after they kick him out, i don't see how that's going to work out well. But the greatest sumo wrestler ever is very soon to be out of the sport he guarded for 20 years.

We have 2 young and relatively healthy Yokozuna. I can't wait for the July Basho. I know another Yokozuna will force Hoshoryu to step his game up. This is going to be so good

Interesting to see where he goes from there. He's a japanese citizen so his future is definitely in Japan, and i think he's big enough to make a visible contribution.

Imagine making him go through the whole process of getting his Japanese citizenship, learning the language and the culture and he becomes the greatest person to do the thing he does and they respond with ya gotta go buddy. We don't give a fuck.

the pattern is clear. when you kick out or mistreat some of the best ever (akebono, takanohana, asashoryu, hakuho) it's pretty clear the point is not some principle of higher standing, but the need for those people to bow their heads to the JSA bigshots.
when they don't, you kick them out. that's all there is to it.
