Erick Silva aims to ‘restart my career in a smart way’ after post-UFC win

We can all agree Erik Silva was thrown in the UFC way too early in his career. He is still so young and has a lot of time to mature into the champion he is.

Hopefully the ufc will get him on the next ultimate fighter

He’s 34. If he bulks up to HW, he can literally be a young prospect in that division.

He was rushed into high level competition too quickly in the UFC. This guy is very young and is barely hitting his prime. These fights outside the UFC will give him the necessary experience to become a champion in the ufc. At his age, he has all the time in the world.

Erick "Fountain of Youth" Silva.

He'll become the youngest champion in UFC history.

One of the most overrated fighters in UFC history.

He's 34 years old, is 8-8 in the UFC, and has 30 professional fights. He is not a prospect, he is not young, and time is not on his side.

3 pages of “young Erick Silva” jokes.

So overplayed. Yeeesh.

I think you missed the joke.

I heard a rumor once that he's related to Juan Ponce de Leon. That's really quite a ridiculous rumor - it is far more likely that Juan succeeded, and that Erick is actually Juan.

Yea, I've been surprised how early the UFC throw some of these fighters in.

But I guess they see it as sink or swim... for every Erick Silva or Yair Rodriguez that sink, there's another Jon Jones or Rose Namajunas that succeed in swimming in those deep waters.
