Sure. But that's not what happened here. It's not like they picked his name out of the phone book and then looked for evidence to back it up. They narrowed it down from the evidence. Kinda like the Boston bombing, except in this case the authorities wouldn't expend the resources without having the initial legwork done for them by a third party.

Bored fucks could probably solve a lot of crimes for free if properly consulted. <cheer>

You're just ignoring everyone that did exactly as I said, including here on this site. Those that did weren't "narrowing down" anything from the evidence. They were mindlessly cut and pasting without fact checking. Somewhere along the line they outright distorted/fabricated evidence.
The evidence of the effect this has is present in this very thread, where posters believed he was proven to have ordered 14 locks from Amazon.
Like I said, I'm not surprised that so many posters here seem to struggle with the extremely basic idea that mindlessly spreading bullshit accusations is wrong.
I only wonder with how common this is, how many do it deliberately as an unprincipled means to further some agenda, and how many are just "useful idiots"?

conjecture on the internet is fine as long as one doesn't present it as fact. even reading the #fakenews won't give you the facts
most the time. Maybe only people involved in on the investigation should comment, but they are usually muted.

I think this says more than they intended to say. They're basically confirming that he is a part of Anti-fa if they're accusing him of snitching on them.
