It's a major topic of discussion over here at the moment, the way in which social media is diminishing the objectivity of trial by jury.
We've already seen plenty of evidence of how easily false narratives are distributed via social media.
Alongside the anti-protesting laws being enacted, it's a big step backwards for civil liberties and legal egalitarianism in my opinion.

I've never had a huge problem with our immigration restrictions (post White Australia Policy obviously). I was never in favour of Howard's "Big Australia", and I certainly wasn't in favour of 457 visa abuse.
My biggest issue with the immigration debate here is the degree to which it's political theatre and dog whistling. The overblown issue of "Boat People" being a prime example, as is the current asylum application deadline.
