Episode 5 discussion

I can understand the wrestler outwrestling controlling grinding out and ground and pounding out a decision, but I can't honestly understand the wrestler getting the guys back AND his fuckin NECK without any real struggle.

I think bubba was either way too passive and over confident, or has a self defeating mindset. That is of course if everything they say about the guy is true. I know nothing about him. I do know that if he was the favorite that there are a few guys in the house who have to feel pretty good about their chances of winning it now
I think that first round wore down bubba pretty good, and the kid just never stopped.

bubba overlooked him, and he paid for it.

fkn priceless episode. might be best tuf season ever.

people say a lot of shit, it dont always mean it is correct.

look at the wiki leaks spoiler thread there dude...

its amazing how much you want to cry about this, when the dude had no way of knowing the outcome. Saying I KNOW how it ends, and saying people on FB are saying are two different things.

Maybe someone guessed the shit, you dont know. There were plenty of clips showing bubba crying on the 1st episode. Sometimes people just guess right.

stop being such a crab ass and get on with your life dude.

It was correct though, and therefore spoiled the fight. Nobody guessed 2nd round sub. He posted a spoiler he heard elsewhere. That is against the first rule of the forum. You're the one taking this so personal.

If the person saw it on Facebook and was uncertain of its veracity, why risk posting it? What's the endgame here? It's either true or false. If it's true, you posted a spoiler and ruined the show for everyone. If it's false, you posted a useless speculation that you aren't sure is a useless speculation, since it could be a spoiler.

Pretty simple rule of thumb: if you "hear" that so and so is going to win, just keep it to yourself.

Wow, I'm surprised by how easily Kelvin is getting swept. He needs to really work on his base and distributing his weight from top position.

Interesting but sloppy scrambles, R1 Bubba. Looks to be a decision for Bubba soon.

This is one of the strangest fights I've ever see. It's sloppy...yet technical at the same time.

Did not see that coming at all, good job to Kelvin, dude was game the whole time, but man he needs work on his technical grappling ESPECIALLY his base.

Kelvin is strong but his BJJ needs A LOT of work.. Got swept too much & didn't lock the legs up in that RNC.. But man, if he polishes up, he's gonna be a monster

This is a lot of what i was noticing during the fight when I made my last post too lol. he also did not defend from half guard and allowed Bubba to pass with ease

Bubba seemed to know what to do from a BJJ standpoint, but from a wrestling standpoint, he was lost. The opposite from Kelvin

Another simply rule is to stay off the internet until the fight is over. No chance of a spoiler then. It's 2013 and people can/will spoil things, rules or no rules. In the end if someone really doesn't want something spoiled, stay off until it is over.

just saying a lot of crying going on for a post that stated, "people on FB said...."

if it didnt happen that way would people still be crying?! did it really ruin the fight?

if you are so worried about spoilers then maybe you shouldnt be on the forums before the show, eh?

just seems to me like a lot of cry babies over nothing, cant believe I wasted all this energy just pointing this out....

idk bubba totally dominated the positions in the 1st I thought, he was always coming up on top. had the dudes back and all, I thought it was going to be over then.

and bubba talked about being a stirker and he didnt really though much, he had plenty of opportunity to drop some bombs, esp when he was on top.

For the record, Cameron's post was a clear spoiler and a violation of the terms of this thread. For that reason, I have banned him. If he wanted to report the general FB prediction, then he should have specified that it was merely FB predictions. When he doesn't specify that, and he describes the precise ending of the fight, and he made this post after the fight took place (but before it has been fully broadcast), then it is a spoiler. This really pisses me off. I've personally had several fights ruined for me by Facebook postings when I was working and couldn't watch the PPV. I now avoid FB at all costs when that's the situation. But this isn't FB. This is the Sherdog TUF thread that is promised to be spoiler free. I also remember watching the Anderson Silva fight at a house party when it was on tape delay (the Maia fight?) and in the middle of the fight, this f**king stranger on his phone says, "My boy says Silva beat that mofo's ass." My best friend and I just looked at each either, jaws dropped, with the obvious shared thought, "Are you kidding me? What is the proportional response for this? Pink belly? A mild concussion? That half-dug ditch in the backyard?"

I don't care about excuses. When that guy realized he was on the verge of taking an honest to God beating, he tried to play it off with the "I didn't realize this was that important defense." I have no sympathy for excuses or rationalizations.

A simpler rule is to follow the rules of the forum, one of which states no spoilers. So regardless of what you think people should be doing in their spare time, the rules clarify what is and is not allowed. Posting spoilers is not. It's a black and white situation here, not sure what the debate's all about.

Post spoilers, get banned.

Oh Agreed. I was talking about Kelvin's grappling. It has serious holes. Bubba in the first round definitely was winning that sloppy grappling war

Bubba's standup? It was below average in his fight to get into the house. Does not use his reach, and does not throw punches a lot. His GNP? Average at best. He should have been dropping some shots there, but hesitated.

Fantastic... I knew I'd get to see that asshat lose eventually, but glad it was tonight! Now War Tor!

I watch TUF in New Zealand and I get no ads while watching. My episodes generally last 38-40 minutes.

Just a warning to others from US that we are usually 10+ minutes ahead of you when the fight starts so spoilers come out easily in these threads.

But some fail to follow the rules, or just don't care. They don't care if they get banned. Again the simplest way to avoid spoilers is to stay off until the fight is over. Sucks but it's the truth. Also not debating anything, rules say he should be banned and he was, just stating the only real way to 100% avoid spoilers is to stay off the internet until the fight is over, no debate there.

I'm not a fan of Rousey either, but I'd root for anyone against Bubba.

Exactly, bubba talks to feed his ego. With casey and this guy, he just talks like he's better. He needs to learn what being humble is. Or at least try to have a little bit of it because he is too one sided, arrogant and if anything it effects his game plan.

Just curious, what exactly do you mean by the part in bold? No discussing the fight until after the whole show is over? just checking since I don't want to get banned.

That was a good fight. I thought Kelvin looked a lot more relax and better in the second round as he looked kinda nervous and sloppy in the first.

Bubba was really overrated and I was actually surprised Bubba was such a huge favorite and picked by most to win this fight last week.

I'm just glad Kelvin won.

If he had just done something as simple as "Bubba's cocky, I bet Kelvin subs him" no issues, but because he cited a source that wound up being correct, he posted a spoiler and he violated the rules and the therefore deservedly banned. End of story.
