Epic Beer Thread V33: Rejoice, it's stout season!

Got to meet those Omnipollo dudes when they were here for the ratebeer event. Super cool guys making some solid offerings.

I'm with you guys tho, those "Milkshake IPA" beers with lactose are trash. Every one I've had (omnipollo/tiredhands/track7) have been drain pours. Put them along with Black IPA's as a failed experiment and move along.

I have 2 cans of Double Extra Vanilla Milkshake from Tired Hands which I am giving away. It's undrinkably sweet. Smells amazing but I can't get down more than a few ounces before my teeth hurt. I'm not a big Tired Hands fan outside of their saisons anyway but these are just not good beers unless you have a massive sweet tooth.

Oh also, Trillium Headroom is the best IPA I've had in recent memory. It's fucking delicious.

I concur on the milkshake Ipas. Other Half has been putting out several Ipas lately with a ton of oats and lactose and it overpowers the hops leaving only this watery oatmeal flavor.

I had every intention of getting up there for the release but was sent on a business trip last minute. Maybe next year.

For hops I've been on a steady diet of my regions best - Moonraker, Cellarmaker, Alvarado Street. All have been killing it with can releases. Cellarmaker finally switched over to cans recently too, just got their last collab with Monkish that's ridiculous.

Other than that been killing plenty of beers at shares. Some of the most noteworthy has been the sours from Black Project which are IMO top 3 US brewed sours. New spot in California Dionysus is putting out incredible sours. SARA always kills. My crew is on a steady Cantillon and 3F diet as well.

I've become a BA Maple Stout whore too.

Haven't traded in over a year, enough good stuff here and Im always with people popping cans of TH and Trill.

I would love some OEC bottles though. We've been lucky to get a few kegs over here at my tap room spot surprisingly but no bottles.

If anyone wants to follow what I'm drinking hit me on IG @brettanomyces707 mostly beer pics with food in the mix.

Speaking of, I just drank a '15 Hommage the other day that was fucking stellar. Also got my hands on a 99 Screenprint. Don't know if I'll ever drink it as my sights are set on another but it's a cool bottle to have for sure.

Awhile back the head brewer at one of my fav breweries NEBCO ( G-BOT, Fuzzy baby ducks= great beers) started his own brewing company called counter weight. if you ever have a chance go, has a great pour room and great beers...

tonight, If I dont pass out before the fight, I will be watching and sipping on

4 packs of yellow rose have made it around to my parts :)

~13$ for 4x500mL feels like a robbery!

I finally stopped at the New Treehouse this week, holy shit it's gorgeous. It's also amazing how much beer they are selling, on Wednesday they sold over 2000 cases. Haze and Alter Ego were the offerings with limits of 7pp.

ha, yeah, I saw two beers yesterday a 1000 cases each
can't wait to get up there again

get . . . up . . . in . . . there . . .

Heading to this in London on Saturday:-

Here's the beer list:-

http://www.beavertownbrewery.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Extravaganza-Beer-List-5.xlsx

(Note that there are different lists for Fri and Sat)

There are a few US breweries I'm not familiar with. I'd appreciate if anybody could give me any recommendations.

I can get on with most styles of beer but I especially like an IPA or a stout.
That's a hell of a list. For ipas Other Half is great. I've had everything listed on there from them and the best one imo is DDH Broccoli. Not a fan of the daydream stuff they do with the lactose but alot of people seem to like them and they are pretty unique. I've also heard nothing but good things ftom Side Project if you're into farmhouse ales.

do you guys like oktoberfest? maybe i just have an aversion to lagers in general... but ive tried a few different ones and it just taste like budweiser to me.

I love marzens, but a subpar one is really boring.

I hit up Treehouse yesterday and it was great, in and out in 20minutes. Julius and Sap were the cans and a bottle of Kenyan Double Shot. They didn't advertise the Double Shot though, was a good way to keep lines down.

You've got a few of Canada's best breweries on that list. Dieu Du Ciel is fairly well known and produce some great beer but the one you should be excited for is Bellwoods Brewery. They are an extremely exclusive brewery out of Toronto. Their beers are hard to come by and very highly rated. I've only had a few myself and I live less then 2 hours from the brewery.

I tried the Bellwoods Jutsu which I was impressed with. I went back for more.
