I've lived on the Outer Banks for going on 10 years and I have been incredibly lucky. The house I live in came with a photograph of people canoeing down the street. The entire bottom floor was in 6 inches of water. The strip of land I live on has the sound on one side and the ocean on the other. Storms hitting the coast straight on aren't as problematic and the ones pushing the sound water to the east. Fingers crossed another year, although I know it's inevitable.

Where on the OBX do you live? I'm assuming you live near the Pamlico Sound? Sounds like the waves from Erin are gonna wash parts of HWY 12 out...as happens with every rough surf lol

Kitty Hawk. Yeah, the beach road will wash out in places. I've got candles and food lol.
