International Entire west coast under tsunami watch

Sounds like coastal areas really lucked out. Not all underwater megathrust earthquakes result in devestating tsunamis, but all devestating tsunamis are the result of one.

$93 Billion in weather disaster damages this year -the highest cost ever recorded in U.S. history before a single hurricane has even made landfall.

It's a bad start.

A massive underwater volcano should be erupting off the coast of Oregon any time now.

Should be interesting.
That is not the one you should be worried about I posted about this story in May. This is just a run up for more acts to come. As I posted Mt Hood has the potential to be 700 times larger then Mt St Helens and could do damage across 1/4 of the country due to the massive amounts of snow and material thrown from it. But it's just miles from Yellowstone.

This is wild did not know this fact the the heat index was the highest ever recorded for Tampa. Not Volcano related during my research saw this news.

"
Tampa hit a milestone no one was hoping for: On Sunday, the city reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit for the first time since record-keeping began in the 1890s. For 135 years, Tampa had remained one of the largest U.S. cities never to hit triple digits. That exclusive club—once shared with Anchorage, Buffalo and Honolulu—just got smaller.

“This is not our normal heat,” Steven Shiveley of the National Weather Service told the Tampa Bay Times, calling the record “historic.” The heat index reached a dangerous 120 degrees the following day, further compounding concerns, Scientific American reported."

Yellowstone is the world changer... Mt. Hood would also be a monster. Crazy stuff.

These are the ones I would be concerned about the others could tear up the coastal shores but those two would end the US as we know it especially Yellowstone. I guess during my research Alaska got hit by a tsunami in the late 1800's and it was a 9.1 earthquake but where it is really interesting it was around 300 miles out like the one you posted. It did massive damage to Alaska's shoreline like completely changed it. Seeing this was late 1800's not much real damage now we that will not be the case.

My Step Dad that raised me was in Anchorage for the 9.1. He was sleeping in some shitty little track house and he said it was crazy, you could see the roofs of other houses that were on the same level as the ground was moving in crazy waves. He was a Bush Pilot for a bit up there and a mechanic. He said the water in the bay rushed out... that would have told me to GTFO.

@PEB what do you think of a potential attack, like a Nuke or an alien weapon targeting the ring of fire to reset the human race?

Something I always been thinking about since I was a kid.

First learned of the idea from this cartoon I saw as a kid. Always kept me shook and have even been working on a sci-fi story with some similar elements about how the world can change at any moment

There is no fix from something that had potential of 1,000's of nukes. But if the US knows of the potential threat they need to develop a freaking plan. Determine the potential getting people to a safe area to reduce the loss of life. An no this not political both parties would rather keep things normal. History proves Government has no common sense.

EDIT: Don't Look Up in 2021 seemed to predict oddly enough almost everything today. It's the Simpsons of of life today the 3rd richest man in the world killed a multi-billion dollar luanch to try to break it up an mine the comet for the trillions of rare earth minerals to build cellphones in this case lol. Ether way seems similar.
