Englands $42 Million tax payer wedding

And how much are they paying in social programs for immigrants, who in return are bombing concerts for teenage girls and 'grooming' them by the dozens?

They'll gladly pay for it because those subjects love their royalty and subservience to monarchy

For the record, I rather like Harry. He seems a decent kid. Served as an Apache pilot in Afghanistan, and once said that killing Taliban fighters was like playing a video game. Likes a beer or five and, before he got engaged, nailed Vegas 9's.

That said, I would literally have to be dead to care less about the wedding.

Might be the most watched thing of the century. Well worth it to the country.

they bring in more to the country than they cost or is that a myth

They should instead give one million British citizens $42.

Ironically a lot of the way this kind of expense is justified is using the monarchy as a tourist attraction, Americans especially seem to love it and a US citizen marrying into the family probably plays that up even more.

My stupid sister was all about Princess Diana and her stupid royal wedding

You ask for opinions on the street in the UK about the royals and you'll get a pretty wide range of responses from fawning to indifference to strong dislike.

I have always found that argument kinda silly to be honest, if they were gone their palaces and castles would still be there to be visited like it's in France or any other country that once had royalty.

rachel is so annoying cant believe shes gonna be uk princess

Yeah, I have been wondering this for a while. The Royal family is a billion dollar living tourist attraction........ or are they?

Yes it probably is, mostly a cover to their helping to maintain a certain establishment mindset and "looking up to your betters".

Then again the US presidency has I think clearly taken on a lot of the trappings of monarchy over the last 50+ years, especially from Reagan onwards.

I call bullshit.

There is a powerful establishment that ensures the sanctity of the monarchy.

This is pr spin imo.

As other poster mentioned, we dont need those toff cunts, kick them out and stick a turnstyle in the entrances to the castles and palaces and f@g machines in the receptions

Since their popularity was very low in the 90s they've invested a lot in PR, and as a result the majority of the public with short memories fawn over them like everything they do is sefless sacrafice and shouldn't we all be grateful!

The pagentry and huge amounts spent on these ceremonies is a waste of time and money, and is an anachronism which reinforces class differences in the country.

In my view they should have their role and involvement in state affairs massively reduced, and shouldn't see anything like the amount of tax payer support they currently enjoy.

Lol

You think you can pay to meet the Queen?

Those fuckers have security forces to keep the lowly likes of you and me away from them.

Its a hugely antiquated institution that should be abolished.
