I think it does matter what he wants.

Everyone knows the cut to 170 is tough for him. He's not gonna accept the responsibility and punishment to his body to make 170 for the very small chance he gets to fight. If he's gonna make a cut, he's gonna fight too.

But if I'm the UFC, I say well you grossly missed weight for a huge event and we had to shuffle the whole card for you. How can we trust you to make weight for an even bigger event? How can your opponent trust you to sign a fight?
