Wow.. setting up a sweepstakes for a million a day in swing states only to encourage conservatives to register is hella illegal. Musk better hope that Trump wins, he's going to need a pardon.
trump doesn’t pardon foreigners from shit hole countries…

Justice department warns Elon Musk's Pac against paying people to vote - report

The justice department has warned Elon Musk’s Pac that paying people to register to vote violates federal law, CNN reports.

The billionaire behind electric car manufacturer Tesla and social media network X has stepped up his support for Donald Trump in recent months, after endorsing him following his near-assassination at a Pennsylvania rally in July. Over the weekend, he said that his America Pac would give $1m every day to a signatory of a petition that appears to be a ploy to battleground state Republicans to register to vote.

Prominent Democrats, including Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro, said law enforcement should investigate, which appears to have happened. Here’s what CNN reported:

The Justice Department warned Elon Musk’s America PAC in recent days that his $1 million sweepstakes to registered voters in swing states may violate federal law, people briefed on the matter told CNN.
Musk, who has thrown his support behind former President Donald Trump and is spending millions of dollars supporting his candidacy, has publicized the $1 million prize by his political action committee aiming to increase voter registrations in hotly contested states.
Musk’s initial promise to pay prizes to registered voters immediately raised concerns from election law experts and some state officials who questioned whether it ran afoul of the law.
Federal law bars paying people to register to vote. The language of the petition currently promises $1 million prizes to people chosen at random for signing a petition in support of First and Second Amendment freedoms. But to sign the petition, you must be registered to vote in specific states.
A letter from the Justice Department’s public integrity section, which investigates potential election-related law violations, went to Musk’s political action committee, according to people briefed on the matter.

LOL.

Seriously though, how many of you all would support a constitutional amendment that makes election fraud a non-pardonable offense? Seems like a pretty gaping loophole.
Don’t get me wrong,
I would see nothing wrong with that.

Elon is clearly buying votes no matter how anyone would like to twist words..

Pretty damn blatant imo

Whose votes is he buying?

That was a completely good faith response from me. So I'm going to go ahead and think you don't know what you're talking about because it does clearly state that Elon musk created fake texts and fake sites that impersonate the Kamala Harris campaign and spread misinformation as if it was coming from their lips.

I would never leave up a misleading threat or title if it was shown to be wrong. And I am perfectly happy to be corrected here if it is wrong.
Protip. You’re not going to get one from him. Even when you know he realizes he was clearly wrong he’s going to write really long tedious posts, tactically ignore the strongest points, insult you a bunch, and try to move the goal post. He will also run some words through the thesaurus and try to make it sound smarter than it is, but the words are always out of place with the rest of his writing cadence so they stick out like a sore thumb. It’s kind of funny really

So he's buying the votes of 18 or so people between 7 swing states by running a raffle? Assuming they weren't already voting for Trump anyway?
Watch the video. There's several payments mentioned along with the relevant law. Both the "raffle" and payments count as buying votes, and no it's not limited to 18 people.
Anyone that really believes in a democratic system would find this disgraceful.

The Rapist!
He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to deal with a therapist; in fact it sounds pretty damn ridiculous when you think about it... oh, wait.

It's not even the kind of scenario you can involve yourself in in good faith, but WHOOPS, actually that's illegal for some obscure reason.

Nah, this is scumbag behaviour from a very, very desperate man.

this is a perfect example of the left’s lack of self-awareness. clearly elon has done nothing wrong, and certainly there is nothing wrong about him conditioning the sweepstakes on being a registered voter. there’s no reasonable way to interpret that as paying people to register. that should be obvious because it’s open to people who are already registered to vote. no reasonable prosecutor would file a case, or even threaten legal action. that in itself is a first amendment violation.

the bigger picture is that a few years ago, everyone agreed that politicizing the justice system was off limits. but now you’re so used to it, you think you’re entitled to lock up people you hate under any pretext. it’s time for you to take your own medicine.
