Yeah, this is a big part of it.

He's definitely a legitimate conservative, with all the bigotry that that entails, but to be an actual Nazi or legit Nazi sympathizer requires several levels more of right winged-ness. He's never given indications that he's that far right.

He's doing this to troll. A big part of the conservative base are crass, vulgar, and low-IQ who think politics is about how much you can piss off the other side. Well, he's giving them a little wink with this one.
 
At first I figured that he's just trolling, but now that I looked at it, I think it's genuinely just some spastic movement on his part.

But, that being said, it looked really fucking stupid to be doing that in Washington DC on the day of the presidential inauguration. Really fucking stupid and he should be more mindful.

Regardless of what anybody believes, I think we should all agree that doing that on mlk day during the inauguration...probably wasn't the best look lol. And I hope that we can all also agree that, regardless of what Elon is or is not, that the only good Nazi is a dead Nazi.

I am not a fan of Musk nor Trump but to me this is a reach. You and others are certainly entitled to your opinions on such a subjective episode. People will ultimately see what they want.

Is there any information that shows Musk supports Nazism/Fascism, holds Nazi ideologies, or been previously documented doing something pro-Nazi/antisemitic?

Without some more background I would not personally jump to conclusions.

I don't know, Elon Musk is a very intentional and aware man and that gesture was done with emphasis (he even made a grunt when he did it first).

At the very least, he was probably aware of the double meaning surrounding his gesture.
