Im agnostic and, strictly playing the odds here, this is the path i think makes the most sense.

Humankind shares so much of our genetic makeup that it might not even be necessary for a large percentage actual OG genes to remain, so long as the correct "Hdfi modifications" remain in play.

And maybe some unknown evolution that occurred within you causes some of your genes to be in alignment with the evolutionary cues that your bloodline will be exposed to, causing them to remain in play for more generations.

Maybe one of your descendants hook up with just the right individual and bam! Hdfi 2.0 is born and the process begins anew.

Im leaning into probabilities here regardless of how unquantifiable they may be, because on the other side, there's zero evidence, and that lack of evidence makes it impossible to upgrade a possibility to a probability.

Having zero kids assures that our only hope is in the unknown; having kids retains all of that plus adds more possibilities + actual living beings carrying our genes
