Maybe. If you asked 10 different political scientists what populism was you'd probably get some fairly varied responses.

In many populist movements of the past there was a strong anti-establishment and egalitarian element though. Gilded Age populism, to oversimplify, was often something like "the people" against the corporate abuses that existed. A large mass of people against a tiny elite.

Trumpism/MAGA/Chuddery is about throwing your support behind a "billionaire" who lives in a skyscraper with his name on it, and shits into a gold toilet, because that pisses off 50% or more of the entire country. Elon is, ostensibly at least, the wealthiest person on the planet, who took over a company and fired 80% of the employees. Instead of fighting financial elites people are living vicariously through them.

Oh, for sure.

Elon's behaviour and treatment of people is commendable to some people, even though they will die without ever being close to Elon's position.

I think they call them 'jobsworths'.

They reached the heights they expected of themselves, so can 'empathise' with high achievers lol

Whole anti-grifting on the death of children was quickly dropped for content. Guessing this is all reactionary by Musk to continue his "Fuck You" to advertisers and the custody case with Grimes not going well.

Problem here is that these are actions of a young adults mind.
