As if the vast majority of twitter bans against people on the right aren't political. And now we get to see lefties run away from the ancap stance of "it's a private company they can do what they want" to demanding every heavy handed form of regulation possible. They've already been talking about repealing section 230 so they can engage in more lawfare like they've been doing against Alex Jones. Can't let any unapproved voices have a say.

Twitter ain’t backing out. Them and Candace Owens are high fiving each other for duping a rich dude to buy their company that does not make money. I don’t invest in social media companies because you survive on ad dollars and in this environment that is a tough way to make money because everyone is always upset and will go after those that advertise on your site

His plan isn't public, so can only speculate, but he has stated his plan is to re-staff key areas to transform their business model. Twitter's own documents show they are running about 25% overstaffed and hire than that based on just size vs revenue. My guess is:

• Remove the 25% already indicated as overstaffed
• Remove funding for non-essential functions/projects like Bootstrap
• Reduce staffing costs by laying off and replacing with outsourcing or junior engineers.

Their mean compensation has always been quite large for a tech company. It wouldn't shock me if their headcount ultimately dropped to the 5,000 range worldwide with a median compensation dropping by ~33% overall as they recruit in cheaper areas.

Currently, we lose interns to them because they offer up to $20/hr more than we do. We are below the median, but not by a ton, so spending an extra $10k per intern is rather excessive.
