If Trump's team of untrained monkeys is on the ball, he'll respond by calling Warren a 1%er. People would eat that up.
1/32 ... man, I'm from CT and I can tell you, it don't take much. 1/16 gets you some of that casino money.
Interesting. So, being a white guy name staring O'..., I should expect a DNA test to come back as.... anything... you know, mostly Chinese and African dissent is just as likely as English and Irish.
Right. Because that's what happens.
This is such horseshit. I have a grandfather who was part native and I don't dare say I am part native. My best friend lives on the rez near me. Full on Sioux, we went to the place to get his Casino stipend check and the line was full of nothing but white assholes claiming that 1/34th bullshit.
Could you imagine if they were calling themselves 1/16th black and picking up...reperations checks or something? Would be a godamn shitstorm of epic proportions
They are using it as like some sort of minority card. Effectively abusing a single allele they got from a ancestor. I'm mostly German-Swedish. Why try to claim I'm native for political gain and votes?but your are part native (even if it is infinitely small).. what's wrong with claiming or acknowledging that?.. you're not purely whatever da fuck you are...
Not understanding the outrage.

No.Didn't she put in on her college application?
Right... so Elizabeth Warren has never touted her Native American background on the campaign trail. it was brought up by a news outlet in 2012, she answered it, her opponent pounced on it and made a big deal about it. Apart from that she never used the fact that her ancestry is part Cherokee for any sort of gains.
So what are you bitching about again in this thread?
It's snake oil, no more. People want to believe they are descended from Indians, or Vikings or whatever, and these companies will happily sell them the, "proof". Truth is, DNA tests simply cannot narrow down genetic ancestry beyond the broadest racial groupings. If a DNA test tells you that you are Anglo-Saxon or Celtic or Germanic, that's a fairly safe bet. Once they get down to tiny percentages, it's guesswork at best. And yet plenty of DNA ancestry companies claim they can trace a person's ancestry back to single figure percentages from thousands of years ago. Sorry, but as the real experts in the field will tell you, the science just isn't that accurate yet.
"Her native American background".
She's a White woman. It's okay to be white.
Now that that little issue is cleared up...
All aboard the Warren 2020 Progressive War Dance Train!

Coming for that orange, combed-over scalp!
UPDATE: Warren Campaign Ad Out
no shit. and she's mostly claimed that she is white.. but she also acknowledges that part of her ancestry is native American and she's proud of it. it's okay to acknowledge you are not fully white.
If she has native American ancestry in her, I have some Samoan because I'm a strong fat guy
Even the most liberal Native American tribal standards require a person to be at least 1/16th ancestry traced directly to their tribe. And that's controversial enough. Most require more. You are talking about casino owners with blond hair and blue eyes. To claim you are of Native American ancestry due to finding a geneticist to claim you have possibly 1/1024th indigenous ancestry not traced to any specific origin is a pure farce. Warren's claims in the past were fraud. And her stories about her family is nothing but lies.
