I'm considering getting one, I am yet to see a negative review and I could see it being a useful tool.

Has anyone trained with one before?

I keep hearing about some guy who lurks these forums that trains with one. Maybe you could search and find a thread about it, as I think I remember one. And I don't think the reviews were positive, in it.

"Have yet to read a negative review on one" translates to "have never read anything meaningful on them".

All that you have on the internet is bros buying them, noticing that training with them on is really fucking hard, and then recommending other bros try it because it makes you tired (obviously the best way to measure how effective a training modality is, right?).

There was an excerpt testing results of a person who used one for 8 weeks in a thread a while back- basically, you saw almost no positive training adaptations from them.

There are a shitload of threads on this site about training masks, and nothing positive about them, except for that Sebastian dude who appears to be the ultimate king of the bros (even more than belph).

It's horsehockey. Simulating elevation while training only means that you have to decrease your training load, which is stupid. To increase hematocrit & RBC, train low (so you can maximize your training load) and live high (so that your body is stimulated to increase natural production of EPO & your RBC increases).

Save your money, don't buy training masks.

I love that guy. In his av, he's even wearing his mask sitting at his computer.

You merely adopted the training mask. He was born in it, raised in it. He didn't get to experience normal breathing until he was already a man.

I don't have a training mask. I have a training hat. And pipe.

They don't improve my performance as such, but they do increase my level of gentlemanly style and insouciance. Which is important.

I hear training with a plastic bag over your had is really hard too, but I dont see too many people recommending that, hard to make money on it I suppose.

So this is what happens when mods abandon sub-forums. Every full moon someone makes a thread about the elevation training mask.
