Elections Electoral voting today

This is a pretty terrible post and you are being laughably hyperbolic

If anything, Trump has been too devoted to the framers' original idea of what federal government is supposed to be, both in terms of domestic and -- especially -- foreign policy. The problem for Trump is that the world has moved past this ideal. I disagree with Trump and anyone else who believes we should intend to just magically revert back in time to a simpler era, and I therefore wouldn't ever vote for him or anyone like him, but your analysis (if we can call it that) is lazy at best

Yeah, putting lobbyists and your kids into power isn't typical for the Framer's, unless you want to somehow equate Jared with John Quincy Adams.

Also not in the framer's idea to have a fraudster who bends his party in the Congress to his whim, or has independent action by departments like the DOJ done away with, installing loyalists.

He's actually what they framed the constitution to avoid.

Lol Melania Trump’s Chief of Staff just resigned.

Can Trump be next please?

Congress when rampaging mobs loot and burn cities for months: Who cares? The point of a protest is to get attention, lol, its working. They got insurance anyway, and even if they don't our cause is more important than their businesses and homes.

Congress when the mob comes to their doorstep: NOOO THIS IS ILLEGAL! IMPEACH!

It's cute that you apparently believe the framers were perfect human beings. I actually don't want to shatter this perception of yours, but...

But... the fact is that people are imperfect. And anyone who possesses an adult-level of emotional intelligence is able to acknowledge and accept this. So the question becomes one of policy intent and application rather than one of personal dislike

btw I'm not even asking if you voted for Joe Biden and whether this would render your concern about nepotism absolutely hypocritical

Hahaahhahaha. Trump is devoted to the framers. My god.

Trump absolutely has to go. He's proven he's unfit for office at this point, and frankly dangerous to have around.

I hope the house objections and all that stupid shit is over, too. Just read the votes and move one.
Totally agree. The Senate is back in the Capitol and should be resuming soon. They were escorted in by the National Guard, which is just so sad and surreal.

Compelling take

I don't wanna tell you what to do but they recently invented these things called books. I'd highly recommend reading one

Imagine being this much of a dumb bitch.

ELECTORAL COUNT EXPECTED TO BE RESUMED AT 8 PM ET, CNN is reporting.

Also MERRICK GARLAND to be Biden’s AG. What a goddamn breath of fresh air that will be after Barr.
If the city is on curfew they probably should've held the electoral count after 6pm.

Ohh gimme a fucking break.

"As a candidate for president, Donald Trump didn't understand the Constitution—and didn't want to learn about it, a key campaign aide said.

"I got as far as the Fourth Amendment, before his finger is pulling down on his lip and his eyes are rolling back in his head," Sam Nunberg, a former adviser to the Trump campaign, said in Michael Wolff's bombshell new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, excerpted Wednesday in New York magazine."

I didn't even imply they were perfect human beings. That's a weird thing to see in my post, as their rather obvious defects are well-known.

They were intelligent and capable, though. Something that can't be said about Trump or his party at this point, as they can't even seem to grasp democracy at this point.

"btw I'm not even asking if you voted for Joe Biden and whether this would render your concern about nepotism absolutely hypocritical"

Uh, yeah, Hunter Biden doesn't have any White House jobs at this point, and I highly doubt his dad is going to make him the pointman for Middle East peace or, ironically for him, the opioid crisis.

That's a bit of a difference. As someone once said, "There's levels to this"

Like having your son-in law, in debt to the tune of 1 billion, in charge of a pr campaign to absolve Saudi leadership in their leader's direct role in hacking up a US citizen journalist then juuuuuuuuuuuuuust so happening to secure yourself a loan with entities directly tied to the regime........

What's sad is that our leaders refused to call in the national guard for months when it was normal people having their businesses and homes looted. As soon as it comes to their doorstep, they have the national guard in within a few hours.

Ah yes, I remember the quotes well:

“You have an Article 2 that says you can do whatever you want!”—James Madison

“My fellow Americans, I present to you the Phony Emoluments Clause!”—Thomas Jefferson

“The free press is a bigger enemy of the people than the country that illegally interferes in your elections.”—George Washington

<{1-17}>

Funny to read all the "rioters storm" usage in the headlines today. Haven't seen any estimates on the peaceful protestor percentage yet. With the lack of reported injuries it must be pretty high. :D

I’ll read one as soon as Trump does. “Devoted to the framers”. Lmao.
