So did I. So did I.....fuck this stupid bitch. i'm coming close to bringing her down and i think ive got the attack patterns figured out. i refuse to use a mimic so i guess im gonna pick up a few scat fragments and come back for this one.
Different play styles. Styles make matchups, I guess.Thinking on it more, I do feel like the difficulty was overblown. The scaling definitely threw people off coming from the end of the base game but once you started building up some Scadu, bosses became much more manageable.
I think a big issue that led to that perception was that there weren’t any real jobbers when it came to the bosses. Every one presented their own challenges so it felt like a gauntlet.
Personally nothing in this DLC came close to giving me the trouble that Malenia, Sword Saint Isshin, or Orphan gave me.
I only ever play these games melee so I feel like the comparison for me is pretty baseline. This is the most consistently difficult title I’ve played from them but not the most difficult.Different play styles. Styles make matchups, I guess.
I'm a straight-up no magic, Conan character named Uggh. Melania and Orphan was easier than the Scadutree for me. Maybe if I went in another direction, it would be different. Plus, reliance on needing to find those fragments made things rough. Though you did mention that. Only played a bit of Sekiro. That is my one missing Souls game. Forgot about not playing that one.
Still need to beat Bayle, Midra, and Rodahn though.
Then I really wonder what is the disconnect, because many are saying the same thing. I feel it is the most difficult, besides Sekiro, which I cannot count. Others who played it say the same. Maybe they all are trying no summons too, but I can't say for certain either way.I only ever play these games melee so I feel like the comparison for me is pretty baseline. I did no summons except for on Bayle because I liked his lore. Sounds like I made it significantly easier that way. Then I really wonder what is the disconnect, because many are saying the same thing. So you would say Sekiro is more difficult, right? Got to get on that one.
I found Gaius way worse than Scadutree. I was getting pretty triggered towards the end with him lol.Different play styles. Styles make matchups, I guess.

Just beat Putrid boss then met Igor and now on the hunt for the legendary Bayle. Seen a bit of footage so I'm looking forward to that summon lolI did no summons except for on Bayle because I liked his lore. Sounds like I made it significantly easier that way.
Sekiro was the steepest learning curve I’ve had with any From game but once I got it I could roll pretty well. The most difficult parts of Sekiro I found harder than Erdtree.
You should definitely check it out. Extremely satisfying combat, you just can’t play it like a Souls game at all.
Gaius got worked in just a few attempts. RNG gods smiled upon me. I need to be up in their face, and he wants to be in your face.I found Gaius way worse than Scadutree. I was getting pretty triggered towards the end with him lol.
Sekiro is great but very frustrating until everything clicks. That took a while for me.
It progresses quests with of most those dudes you meet early on, but I don't think it locks you out of anything, potentially a Cookbook and some dialogue, even that I think you're likely to have got all their dialogue by now and that cookbook you can get later iirc.i want to get the abyssal woods map fragment just cause its the last one i need but apparently i need to go through shadow keep and if i do that right now its gonna fuck all of my npc quests up because if you go near shadowkeep it messes with the quests or some shit i read somewhere. its so annoying having parts of the map greyed out usually the first thing i do in games like that is rush for whatever just to reveal the map.
I went though it at 125 in regular NG. Sorcery buildwhat level did you all play this at? I know you all gained many and such, but what did you start and end at? Estimate if anything
Sorry if already said. 40 plus pages is a bit much to dig through
