Started at 165, now i'm 172 and I assume about half way thru though DLC. I've never finished the main game though, beat the Fire Giant and waited for the DLC before continuing.

I think I entered around 150 or so, finished right below 200. Runes everywhere.

Your level isn’t nearly as important as your Scadu level.

Absolutely. I’m 14, and it has gotten much easier in general. Bosses falling very easily. I heard they reworked them to make the first few much more beneficial, but I can’t really differentiate between earlier and later levels in my memory. Can say at level 14, I plow through shit now. Weird direction they decided to go in, but that’s on brand for From

They wanted to stop people from bulldozing the DLC so rune level became a lot less relevant.

That makes sense, and I can understand why they did it this way. Thats why they pay them the big bucks.

Maybe if I had known about how these new systems really worked, instead of going in blind, I wouldn’t have complained about the difficulty. Just purposefully stayed away from any news about it until I got it, a week or so after release. Didn’t know how the fragments helped as much until you guys here.

Knowledge. It makes a world of difference… Whouda thunk it?
 
Anyone fought lamenter? What's his deal and what am I dying from? I don't see any status buildup.

If you don’t kill his adds you get an invisible debuff for every one you didn’t kill.

Yeah I guess it's like those.

Fought a roaming hippo and a deathbird and then tried that lion again. Not even close and the second half with those frogs is brutal. No idea how you beat it so easy. He's still the hardest boss in the game for me.

I'm probably in agreement, but we'll see how long it takes me to beat Radahn first.

Orphan is definitely the toughest boss Ive ever fought from them where I didnt have any camera issues (fuck you Nameless King), or the hit pool wasn't stupid (fuck you Midir). In fact, the last time I played Bloodborne I left off being stuck on him.

I think I can take Radahn without having to switch up my build, but time will tell. I always do my first run rocking the Claymore in Souls games, and never deviate, so I imagine I can do it here too...

Like Melania, I don't think I'll ever consistently avoid his AOE attack, just habe to survive it lol.

Telling you that Bloodfiend Arm is absurd. It was over halfway dead in a matter of seconds. I was also +19 but still. The bleed and overall damage it produces is off the charts.
 
Beat Bayle and Midra tonight, and made it to Radahn.

I actually really enjoyed the Bayle fight, I thought it was significantly more manageable than Midir in Dark Souls 3 which is for me my personal hardest boss in a From title.

Midra was a pretty cool boss fight too imo.

But the new Gank Squad can go fuck themselves. Thank fucking God I had Tholier and Ansbach on my side for that shit.

And Radahn… Holy shit. Especially during phase 2. No idea how I’m going to ever beat him.

Yeah I guess that's true. It's just the way he jumps you straight out of the gate reminds me of Sanctuary Guardian. And why so much land? It's like they were going to put a boss there but ran out of time and just dumped a few fragments instead.

What does this mean? What second fight?

"Changed the placement of the bosses in the re-fight against the Golden Hippopotamus and Commander Gaius bosses to be in the same position as in the first fight."
