No Spoilers Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

Beat that stupid looking lion boss that was in all the trailers. Woke up early this morning before work to put in about 90 minutes. Really enjoying it so far but the framerate drops during that boss fight I just mentioned are unforgivable. No mentions in any of the reviews. Only From Software can get away with this shit. Love their games but jesus christ it shouldn't be that hard to maintain a steady framerate with these outdated visuals. It's crazy that nobody knocks off a point in the reviews for this when so many other games receive harsh criticisms and deductions for that. Just a little complaint but I do think the DLC captures the magic of how Elden Ring felt when I first started. Like I said a while back I ended up reviewing the original game a 8.5 or 9 out of 10 due to performance issues and a crappy last area (snowy mountains) but ultimately felt it was an amazing title that ranks among their best. I hope the DLC is more like the first few areas of the base game and less like the last couple areas. So far so good.

Did anyone else have that issue with the first major boss?

My other save files were Ng+ fuck starting the dlc like that lol.

Just gonna play naturally until I beat Mohg, loving going through the main game again anyway.

The character I'm going to use is in ng+ as well. I don't think the jump in difficulty is nearly as big in this game as in some of their others. Hope not anyway lol

Working 12 hours today and took an extra normal shift for tomorrow. Pour one out for me gents. If I'm not too tired after work today, I may get two hours in, but the real journey doesn't start until Sunday.

I must have gone in a different direction than you, since Elden Ring is open world and there is no real “first boss” because the boss of the first legacy dungeon I did was not the lion but rather Pontiff Sullivan 2.0

I went lion as well. Loved the area, boss was a prick.

That’s fair I guess I meant that for many it’s going to be the first boss because it has the most obvious entrance of any area I’ve seen thus far.

If the map were the face of an analog clock would you have gone in the direction of say 10 or 11 o’clock? Because I went straight to 1 o’clock if you will.

I can’t even remember the map now that I’m at work lol but I think it was more like 10. I could explain it in greater detail but I’m afraid of spoiling stuff. Let’s just say it’s a legacy dungeon and those have always been a bit more obvious since you can see them from a distance and usually have an archway or staircase to enter from.

Did it start with big hairy scorpions? Because if so, as soon as I saw one I noped right out of there. Scorpions have scared me ever since I was a little kid, the scorpion in Honey I Shrunk the Kids traumatized me.

Yes those are an enemy there so it sounds like the right place

Excited to get home from work and fire this up. Tried to pre load and didn't see an option, so hopefully my son downloaded it and has it ready since he's itching to play too.

Got great shield turtle build ready to slowly poke my way through the new content.

I gotta say not having trophies does suck. I’m the kind of person that loves looking over my list of games and trophies. I enjoy seeing the date I beat a boss and looking at how many people killed x boss. Also love the sound of a trophy popping after beating a tough boss. Looking back at on their catalogue of games it seems Bloodborne really was the only one to have dlc trophies and I’m guessing that was Sony forcing them to. Don’t know why they don’t include them in their multi platform games

I just started the dlc and found the lion boss first as well since it's really the first big area you come across. Good thing you love scorpions lol
