No Spoilers Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

I just found out there are two base-game shields I don’t have. 400h+. NG+4. Incredible.

I’m so pumped to make a mission of hunting them down before Friday launch.

The two shields are Twinbird Kite Shield and Spiralhorn Shield.

You guys have these?

I have a feeling this will be better than the base game. Elden ring felt front loaded to me because the first few sections were amazing and the last couple areas dragged and didn’t offer as many interesting enemies or places. Been hearing that the expansion has less dungeons but each one is more interesting. That’s exactly what I wanted to hear. I love Elden ring a lot but it ranks below Bloodborne, dark souls 3 , and Sekiro for me. I think them going for a smaller more dense area is exactly would could make the game better and I’m looking forward to seeing if that’s the case

I'm really hoping they go back to the OG Dark Souls Boss design with the DLC instead of this new terrible direction with Elden Ring of having bosses just be flailing hit boxes with very minimal windows of punishment. Don't have my hope up but hopefully at least the new areas will be fun to explore.
Agree. I’ve speculation behind it but I can’t remember if it was unpopular. With ER, they didn’t design a SP game – but in deviation of prior works a co-op/MP one rather, I’ve said.

I'm trying to finish a playthrough in time for the DLC. Goddamn Radagon is brutal. Gives me so much more trouble than Malenia.

It’s out on Friday. Why would you be fighting the final boss now when you’d have to go through so many hours all over again within 2 days to get back to Morg? Take a break and don’t burn out before the expansion. My advice but no need to listen to me lol

You can choose whenever you’d like to go to NG+. I just beat Elden Beast earlier and am good to go for the DLC.

It's actually the first character i made but because i kept starting new playthroughs i never finished the game with my first character and only within the last hour or so have i actually completed the playthrough i started 2 years ago lol.

This character won't be going NG+ but will be the who i'm taking into the DLC.

This will be me at work Friday morning after staying up till 5am playing the dlc

That's what I was thinking lol

I fired ER back up after two years. I started a new character but didn't feel like doing it all over again so reloaded my level 200-ish previous build. I was at Castle Sol last, so right on the verge of gaining access to Mohg's Palace. I think I'm still on my first NG run. Everyone hits hard but so do I now that I went back to my Claymore build. Murklng Cpt Niall and Mohg was super gratifying. I always do my first Souls run with a Claymore, so I'm now primed for the DLC

I know very little about it, only that Miyazaki undersold it's size/scope while overdelivering. The goat is back, can't wait!!
Level 200 on NG is actually nuts lol

I think I have to be on my 3rd run. How do we tell again? Enemies hit way too hard for it to be my 2nd. I have 60 vigor.

It's weird too. I just discovered a bunch of dungeons in the concecrated snow area where it clears up and a portal to Mohgwen's Palace. I don't recall the snow ever clearing up and Astel being an end boss in a dungeon. I think I just beelined to the town that takes you to the Haligtree Tree, as you can't see shit. I'm still triggered by the Dark Souls 2 snow area with poor visibility lol.

As for the palace, I thought we always had to do some long quest with the guy we meet at the beginning of the game to get there? I definitely did that twice but the sites of grace at Mohgwen's Palace weren't unlocked here, so it has to be my third run.

Anyway I'll check when I play tomorrow, but it's cool to find new things after so much time.

Wondering if this expansion is best when using a character that's already leveled up or just starting over. Can't freaking wait

There's a few different ways to the Mohgwen's Palace. Varres/valles questline that you can do online or off-line or the portal through consecrated snowfields.

So I was reading that there’s supposed to be a preload for PS5 48 hours in advance of launch, but so far I haven’t been prompted for anything on my end. Any of my Sherbros on PS5 seen any indication of a preload yet as were less than 48 hours away now.
