No Spoilers Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

you died.......god slain.

it was only a matter of time until my mimic got the final lick in and it counted. mini me is the new elden lord!

i had a near perfect run on this fucker too, dodged all of that shooting star bullshit and his hugs and then he was down to a bit of health left so i got a little cocky and tried to rush it in and then he fucked me up. but my mimic avenged me. i don't feel dirty about it at all.

Run at him and off to the right a bit soon as you load in. When he comes at you like a cannon ball, roll twice (at medium roll, maybe one light roll) then ring up mimic tear as soon as the roll finishes.

Only way I was able to get him summoned reliably, and I'd still get hit once before I could roll more to get out of range. Run away a bit more, drink a pot when mimic takes aggro, circle back and go to work.

Make sure you have hefty rot pots equipped so mimic can throw them.

i realise that if i just walk to the entrance, stop, and enter to the farthest right of the fog gate that it lets me, most of the time he doesnt start flying through the air at me and just starts slowly walking towards me instead. which often gets me enough time to call in my mimic and maybe get a heal in before he cannonballs into me

but if i just run to the fog gate and then enter i usually get cannonballed right as i'm calling in my summon and then i have to go all rollie pollie trying to avoid all the follow up swings while i try to get some distance to heal. i'd say at least 90% of my deaths are a result of that. i'm dead before i can even enter the fight lol.

Elden God Round 2

He beat my ass the first time and I beat his ass the second time after I learned his moves

That was no beating of Godfrey amigo. You went life or death with him, panic rolling and chewing potions like crack cocaine.

What makes no sense to me is how they managed to kill Godwyn. Wasn't Godwyn the Elden God? How do these assassin guys get him on his knees, hold his arms out like this, and stab him in his back?

They had to have defeated him in battle somehow and you know Godwyn has a +10 weapon and armor and is maxed out in stats if he was the Elden God. He was the strongest in that whole place.

I fought a Black Blade Assassin and he was pretty easy. He had low health so Godwyn should have 1 hit killed him. And with the way these bosses fight with huge sweeping attacks and explosions everywhere.. 1 hit from Godwyn could have killed 10 of those assassins.

He’s not “the good guy”. There aren’t any good guys among the NPCs and demigods. You’ve got a handful of morally dubious characters with their own agendas, and then a few bonafide bad guys like Rykkard, Mogh and Shabriri. Margit/Morgott has some notion that preserving the status quo of the Golden Order is the right thing to do, which effectively be the objective of Radagon as well, but there’s no basis for saying that’s “good”. The Golden Order are genocidal fascists.
Whoa, you went right in.

Do you play the game on the PS5

Because I got a PS5 but my Elden Ring disc is a PS4 version. It says I can upgrade to the PS5 version for free but someone told me the PS4 version was better in that it has faster frame rates while the PS5 version has better graphics but runs slower frame rates

PS5 version is superior. You can choose frame rate over quality and it runs perfectly and still looks better than PS4.

PC here.

Swap in the Sacred Relic Sword from Elden Beast.

You can now nail his undead ass with waves of gold from across the arena, with bonus damage.

It's the perfect weapon for undead bosses / ghostflame dragons.
Oh I’m doing a Dryleaf run, so far not too bad. Putrescent has been the toughest so far but I’m about to head to Messmer so we’ll see.

Pure str dex or adding in some arc for dryleaf bleed or int for kungfu and sorceries?

It seemed like 6/10 times if I ran at him the moment I loaded in he would pace to the side for 1-2 seconds.

If I tried to cast a buff or drop mimic the moment I load in, he'd cannonball so fast you couldn't even roll left before he cannonballs you into the wall.

Either way for me learning the fight was three phases.

1) surviving the opener.

2) getting to phase 2 reliably.

3) surviving phase 2 & getting the kill.

The Ansbach summon helped a bit when learning the fight, just to draw some aggro. Once I was getting to phase 2 though I stopped using him so he wouldn't buff boss hp anymore.

Magma Wyrm in the Volcano Mansion. This fight was a clusterfuck.. 2nd try.. I beat his ass the first fight and he got lucky with the lava and belly flop for the KO win.

I beat Godskin.. The fight was an ass whippin. I used mimic tear so I didn't record it. I remembered there being 2 Godskins. Skinny one and fat one but there was only the fat one. That's why I used Mimic Tear.. I could have sworn there was a skinny one that jumps in

The fat one turns into a wheel and rolls all over and the skinny one jabs you from across the room with his sword

Either I'm suffering from Mandella Effect or the skinny Godskin was removed

Heavy strength, dex, and int for my frost. Using Divine Beast Frost Stomp as well.

It’s a really fun build.

Is this your first playthrough or second? I won't say shit if it's your first.

The Godskin Duo where you fight both a Godskin Noble (fat one) and a Godskin Apostle (skinny one) is way later, towards the end of the game in Farum Azula. You encounter Nobles and Apostles each on their own twice (Noble in Volcano Manner and outside the Divine Tower of Liurnia, the Apostle at the windmill village and the base of Divine Tower of Caelid).

It's my first play. I never beat it and I said I wasn't that good at the game. Infact, if you read my post on here, you'll see that I admit that I suck at most games. I'm old now but I'm still beating the game. I've beaten every boss so far with 1 or 2 tries.

I got halfway into the game years ago and gave my PS4 away to a kid in my family and bought a PS5 and had to start over

I want to see you guys post vids.

That's my new armor set by the way. I just beat a guy and he gave it to me.

And for the record, I said Dying Light was the hardest game I ever played in the modern games. I couldn't get past the night time part in tutorial on that game and I've beaten Dark Souls, Bloodborn twice, and I almost beat Demon Souls.

I don't see what the difficulty is in this game.

And I'm going to keep posting my vids because in 15 or 20 years when I'm dead, some kid in the future that is into retro gaming will post in the discussion and my vids will be here. And people will see my fights.

When I fight the giant snake guy, that vid might be tomorrow. I'm doing other things in the game now. I'm going around tieing up loose ends. I'll beat the giant snake guy's ass when I grab that spear

Midra’s such a cool fight. Love everything about it. The insane cutscene, the madness component, his moves are swift and unexpected but you can also get into a great rhythm with them.

Enjoying these boss fights even more my second time around.

my mimic is having the journey of its life! scadutree avatar killed me with just a bit of health left but the mimic avenged me just in time.

commander gaius down on first try.....thanks to my mimic getting the final lick in. pressing F to pay my respects.

mimic takes down metyr too. mini me is having himself a game!

I love Messmer’s fight so much. It’s peak From quality.

Still have no idea what the hell hit me at 1:27. Also peak From quality.
